Comments Thread For: SHO's Espinoza: We've Offered to Mediate Joshua-Wilder Talks

Stephen Espinoza, the head of Showtime Sports, is very confident that Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder will collide in a heavyweight unification in the future. Showtime has a working relationship with both Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) and Wilder (49-0, 39 KOs). At the moment the two sides are at odds over the money.

Hearn has no interest to get this fight next. His worried about losing his cash cow. They know the 12.5 million will not be accepted by Wilder. So their excuse is to blame Wilder for turning down the fight claiming its more money than his earned before. They will blame Wilder and then fight Povetkin.

Hearn doesn't want this fight unless he is promoting both guys. Joshua is just a fighter and wants the fight but he doesn't call the shots. Hearn is just like Arum, he wants everything in-house now.

There is no fear whatsoever but just a business situation. Hearn wants to sign Wilder and is trying to use Joshua as a bait to get Wilder to sign. He also wants the likes of Miller and would rather sign those guys and build this fight for later. He feels like the fight is premature as non of the guys are PPV stars in the USA.
