Seems kinda odd to announce this a couple days removed from Hurd-Lara. Especially for a fight in June. Seems like he would have waited a couple days, see if Hurd was interested, and shoot for a July or Aug showdown for jr middleweight supremacy. Maybe they’ll do it on the fall or winter.

Let's not forget the role Showtime is playing here. They probably want that unification fight for their calendar late in the year when some of their original programming dries up. I think you "winter" call is on the money.

i think the problem was the long layoff and the three tune ups in a row of fights that didn’t matter that included the Daniel Dawson fight. He had a run of meaningless fights similar to his last fight
