Remember it was Canelo that was taking the fall for the fight not being made and being accused of ducking. So why didn't G just continue with his career and chase Canelo like a little puppy, and have his career stall?

Shit or get off the pot.
This may sound great and what we'd all like to say but none of us would say it if we were in the same position. You aren't throwing millions down the tube.

true...but we can blame his team for s h i t t y replacements, TO AN EXTENT...I mean, we don't know the logistics of making a last minute deal with an alternate...we have no idea what these potential opponents are asking for as far as monetary guarantees and the like...regardless, we don't have to pay nor do we have to watch what we don't like....

GGG is one of my favorite fighters but I for one, will not buy if this prospect ends up being the opponent...

I agree. I'm a big fan but I would not pay for this fight. That is always the most powerful message that one can send.

Except it's not throwing anything down the tube. Canelo would still fight GGG even if he fought in between. Canelo makes nowhere near as much money vs anyone besides GGG either. It's the fact that Loeffler does not understand HE has leverage as well that makes him terrible at his job. GGG also lost 5 maybe 10 million dollars by not taking the Saunders fight. If he would have kept to his normal schedule he might have made almost as much money by now fighting other guys than waiting on one Canelo fight.

Munguia is a good prospect but this is far too soon and a bad idea. It's a mismatch and the type of beating he may not recover.

We do not know that. You believe that but when the person in power says we need this to happen to make the happen you do not risk millions and trying to call their bluff.

And what if he loses against Saunders how much does he lose then?

As a fan I hate this whole thing. I would have loved for him to fight Saunders before Canelo. But as a business person, and frankly just a person who works for a living, I understood the situation. No fighter in Golovkin's situation would have done anything differently. He made the right business decision. Unfortunately the right business decisions in boxing are all too often killing the sport from being anything more than a third tier sport in America.

Oh for ****'s sake. They picked someone worse than Gary O'Sullivan. I don't care if this dude is Mexican. Its not going to sell a single pay-per view. He's a nobody. Worse. He's a nobody that isn't even a middleweight.

                  Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

They better stack the hell out of that undercard.

I hope you're right. As a huge fan of GGG I am very much disappointed. This is a waste of time and an utter no-win situation. Pick this guy to spar with GGG and no one will have a problem. But to actually fight GGG???? AND ON PPV? WTF!!!!!!
