It's not like Canelo is holding a belt hostage and G-string is desperate to get it.
Bro I agree with you! I CANNOT BELIEVE how ****ing either greedy or incompetent Tom Loeffler is that he's let GBP run GGG's career just over the threat that they might withdraw the Canelo fight. He SHOULD have just told them, "we will still fight Canelo, but you cant hold up our career if Canelo is only going to fight twice a year. We fight more than that, and we're not going to stop just over the small risk of injury. If GGG gets injured, YOU can wait for him to heal. WE have waited for YOU plenty, maybe it's your turn."

But Loeffler has never stood up for GGG. He did the same **** with Cotto. He even let GGG take punches from a cruiserweight vs Jacobs just to appease the NY Athletic Commission and help Mickey Conlan who Loeffler doesn't even promote. Loeffler is the most helpful guy in the world to everyone except the fighter he promotes GGG. But to all GGG's rival fighters and Loeffler's rival promoters, Loeffler is the nicest most pushover guy in the world, and he's ruined GGG's career.

I agree with you. I'm just saying, it came straight from GBP's mouth. They've said many times, GGG is not allowed to fight a few months before Canelo because "we need that time to promote the fight" or "it's a risk" blah blah blah. Just look up the interviews if you don't believe me.

You are right. But considering the reality that he has been training and he has pay day set I understand it. I don't like it at all but I understand it. Canelo f'd this up.

The question isn't so much May 5th now, it is what happens after that. My hunch is Canelo-Golovkin will be in September now. I wasn't overly excited about the May fight, can't imagine how much less so in September if it happens.

Yeah, I agree they should get a better opponent. I probably won't even watch this fight.

Exactly, they should've told GBP to F- off. "We're fighting BJS when we want" "F-off, we're moving on with our career, while you can keep getting accused of being the ducks."

Remember it was Canelo that was taking the fall for the fight not being made and being accused of ducking. So why didn't G just continue with his career and chase Canelo like a little puppy, and have his career stall?

Shit or get off the pot.

I heard he is blue chip on the Canelo level. If I was informed wrong, then I take it back, of course. I've never seen him fight so I can only comment based on what I've heard.

And stop calling me Steve Kim. I think he's been exposed as a hack who only pretends to speak against corruption, but really by plays the game like the rest of the mainstream press, just in a more clever way.

This choice of Jamie Munguia is alot worse than Spike O'Sullivan.

This kid just barely turned 21 years old last October and fought at 147 just 11 months ago. He barely just got into the 154 pound division. Now he's supposed to fight GGG at 160 on PPV? What in the World?

They should've just stayed with Spike O'sullivan on regular HBO if they were going to go this route. At least Spike is a 160 pound fighter and a veteran who has been in big fights before against Saunders and Eubank Jr.

It's almost criminal if NSAC allows a fight between Golovkin vs. Munguia

Both can be true. This is terrible mismatch. It is also Canelo's fault.

No one, and I mean no one here would drop a fight date on Cinco de Mayo when you are already in training. So a fight was going to happen.

Understanding it is Cinco de Mayo you are going to want to fight a Mexican. Someone who might have a chance at giving you a shot to not make the PPV event a total disaster.

I bet Munguia would beat Sullivan. But, Ive never seen him fight. Lots of young guys boil down to 147. Canelo even fought at 147 at one point. GGG is not a big middleweight. Brook was almost as big as him, Muguia will probably be about the same size as GGG too. It's better than Spike anyway who has ZERO top traits.
