That's not how it works. He has to rebuild his brand.

    1. Regain confidence from his fans, networks, his peers, the overall boxing community. He has to deal with people doubting his wins and his entire legitimacy now. Those are the risks of cheating though.

    2. Not to mention he still has to appease and hope his sponsors don't leave (tecate, hennessy, everlast, under armour, etc).

    3. He has to think about all the money he cost fans from all around the world from tickets, to hotels, to other travel expenses.

    4. The economy of Las Vegas just took a guaranteed $300 million hit because of him.

    5. All the money GBP spent on advertising/marketing this 2nd fight, in order to make the fight again, they'll have to spend that money alllllll over again.

    6. He has to gain confidence in the states of Nevada, Calif, New York, and Texas that this won't happen again.

So, again, this isn't something that's that easy to where it will blow over and he will get back to doing things just as they were before and he won't be affected at all from this. He will definitely feel this for the rest of his entire career.

Because Canelo announcing cancellation of the fight is probably a breach of contract and he and GBP could be sued for all of this, however we haven't heard any of this and GGG is happy to headline a May 5 fight.
      ... yes... it sounds plausible...

Morales was allowed to fight garcia despite testing positive for the same thing
Well no I didn't see that actually.
And of course Canelo taking PED's is what screwed this fight up.
Whether he did it intentionally or not we'll never know but it's completely Canelo's fault that the fight isn't happening. Triple g did nothing wrong and if anyone is blaming Triple g then that shows you how much of an idiot they really are!
Sucks for us but we all knew it was gonna get cancelled so I don't blame Canelo for cancelling the fight first before the NSAC cancelled it for him. That gives Triple g one month to find a replacement.
I don't think it'll be a top fighter though. And he shouldn't fight a top fighter. He should take a tune up and hopefully fight Canelo in September. At least that's what I'm hoping for..

I'm pretty sure if a guy like mosley, who was actually caught doing real steroids

and margarito who was caught using plaster in his hand wraps

came back and had multimillion paydays

Canelo will be able to come back easier than these guys.

You mean like with Floyd Cheatweather.

That's not the issue. Whether or not he can make millions again is not the issue. That's a direct result of being popular. He's definitely popular.

Neither one of those guys were as big (status wise) as Canelo. Neither one of them had fights cancelled just before one of the biggest fights boxing has ever seen. Neither one of them is costing the Vegas economy hundreds of million of dollars in revenue (well, not costing, but eliminating that opportunity). Neither one of those guys had to deal with the hundreds of media outlets that now exist.

The point is, it won't be easy for him to just say "give me my 6 month suspension, and absolutely nothing will change for me". things will definitely change. Especially considering those things I mentioned above.

He's had 2 humiliating moments in his career. Both came as a result of having to face Gennady. (giving up his belt to gennady & now having a fight being called off because you have banned drugs in your system before a Gennady fight).
