someone with a pulse
kidding
I know that Golovkin will insist on fighting a top opponent
he would never use this opportunity to take a safety-first fight against a no-hoper..... knowing that his fanboys will kill themselves making excuses for him.....
no siree, he would never fight somebody like Spike

Neither one of those guys were as big (status wise) as Canelo. Neither one of them had fights cancelled just before one of the biggest fights boxing has ever seen. Neither one of them is costing the Vegas economy hundreds of million of dollars in revenue (well, not costing, but eliminating that opportunity). Neither one of those guys had to deal with the hundreds of media outlets that now exist.
The point is, it won't be easy for him to just say "give me my 6 month suspension, and absolutely nothing will change for me". things will definitely change. Especially considering those things I mentioned above.
He's had 2 humiliating moments in his career. Both came as a result of having to face Gennady. (giving up his belt to gennady & now having a fight being called off because you have banned drugs in your system before a Gennady fight).
really I'm sure thats what Canelo cares about more
at least thats how i see it
and you kinda brought that up too.
hell be fine.

Gennady has NEVER needed a ready-made excuse to fight a no-hoper
so.....
now that he has a ready-made excuse..... do you guys REALLY think that he will suddenly flip the script and face a top opponent?
lol
listening to Loeffler sell the Spike fight is gonna be hilarious

I have to agree. Especially since I think history will be kind to Golovkin concerning the first fight. Most felt he won.
Get BJS, get the titles, maybe challenge for a couple at 168 if you win all that, and your career as a fighter is looked on fondly. No need to go down this road with Alvarez again.

GGG needs to fight on TV as much as he can.
Even if it’s ESPN. He doesn’t have much longer and can’t waste time on Clenelo any longer

Gets a Golden Boy gift from the judges -
Realizes he can't beat GGG so fuels up on the clenbuterol -
Gets caught cheating -
GGG says he will still take the fight -
Canelo walks away before the decision is even made -
Not a good look all-round. For Canelo or the sport.
