To put it simply: before a fight is officially finalized, a boxer has his manager and legal team look over all of the commission's bylaws of the state they are fighting in. Once they lock in the location, they sign contracts agreeing to abide by that commissions rules and regulations - as well as accepting any punishment dished out (based on those very bylaws) in the event that they break a rule.

NSAC has a strict liability clause in their revised bylaws that states "It is the duty of each unarmed combatant to ensure that no prohibited substance enters his or her body....it is not necessary to establish that the unarmed combatant intentionally, knowingly or negligently used a prohibited substance....". That's very point blank.

NSAC is basically saying "all we care about is if it was in your system or not. A positive result as all we need to suspend you. HOW it got there doesn't has no bearing on if we suspend you or not. "

You shouldn't sign a contract hosting a fight in the state of Nevada if you know you aren't taking the proper precautions to ensure you aren't in violation of any rules.

If you have a problem with Nevada's bylaws, um, then write Bob Bennett and suggest that he have a meeting with the other board members of NAC that will change a bylaw that will specifically/only benefit and mention Saul Canelo Alvarez in the event he decides to have Clenbuterol in his system. Other than that, I don't know what to tell ya.

Canelo and his team knew there was a Clenbuterol situation in some of Mexico’s meat. They also knew that some Mexican boxers have claimed to have found themselves in a situation revolving around this meat.

Therefore, Canelo knew full and damn well then, that if he used Clenbuterol, he would have what in his mind would be deemed as a legitimate excuse that his phony ‘face of the game’ image would cushion his backlash.

He was wrong however. The amount that Canelo is wrongly forced onto us as being the sports marquee name has obviously gone to their head. Believing your own hype, so to speak. They must genuinely have thought that he was this superstar that they insist he is and that having a fool proof excuse for Clenbuterol would be accepted by fan and establishment alike.

I am man enough to admit that I believed he would have been let off, but I only felt that way due to the existing list of controversy around him already.

Bottom line. Team Canelo and GBP believed their own plastic hype and thought having a foolproof ‘reason’ for Clen would be all fine and dandy.

What happens to his falling reputation here-on-in is simply an act of karma.
