AJ has ONE good win on his resume: Klitschko. And even that one is a little in doubt because Klitschko may already have been shot before that fight. He certainly looked shot against Fury, and he wasn't much better against undersized Bryant Jennings.
Wilder has 1 good win (maybe 1 and a half, since the first Stiverne fight was considered a legitimate test for Wilder). He's been trying to fight big fights - losing Povetkin and Ortiz fights to PEDs - and he can only fight the guys who are available to fight. And 39 KOs in 40 fights is noteworthy, no matter who he's fought.
In other words, their resumes are comparable. You can't say Wilder fought bums when AJ fought the same bums and similar opponents too.

"Dillian can box him in June or July or whenever. [Wilder] may have no choice, because if Mauricio Sulaiman orders the mandatory.... he boxed Stiverne which was an outstanding mandatory, but at some point in 2018 the WBC is going to call the mandatory," Hearn said.

Although with the bums they'd be fighting they shouldn't have to worry to much about that. They should still fight next no need to marinate v its already a huge fight. Whoever wins can set up q megafight with Tyson Fury in the beginning of 2019 and the winner of that would become a boxing icon. It makes more sense to have the fight now
Hearn said he was good with that scenario that Wilder presented. But that they all have to sit down and negotiate.
In the end it's up to the two teams, their representatives, promoters, etc...to agree and make the deal. Hopefully it will be a done deal by the end of the year or beginning of next year.
