Cotto was the WBC MW champ and GGG was his mando.

Oscar's offer was for a fight in Sept 2017 so it wouldn't have happened one day sooner if GGG had accepted it.

if the canelo fight gets called off, saunders isn't available. he just postponed his defense to June.

What don't people realize? GGG can not pull out of this fight without having HUGE legal implications. Unless NSAC calls off the fight and/or says that Canelo was indeed guilty (after they composed a thorough investigation) - Gennady can't just pull out and not pay the price.

He's simply saying he hopes NSAC will conduct a very comprehensive investigation (as thorough as the one FIFA did when exonerating those 5 soccer players - where they gathered intel about what restaurants, what time they ate, what training camp, what butcher that training camp uses, and what farm that butcher uses, etc).

If they conduct that investigation, and Canelo cooperates and gives up the above details, and they find out Canelo is innocent, then it's dropped. If canelo chooses not to, then hair follicle tests will be in order. If Canelo chooses not to do that then 1. he's as guilty as can be and 2. NSAC failed to do it's job by conducting a full investigation in a timely manner and/or following it's own bylaws when pertaining to punishment.

I'm not so sure about that. Both fighters agreed to be tested, so there must be language that states the penalties of failing the test or what's the point of testing? NSAC is investigating how Canelo may have ingested the banned substance, but the fact that he did is undeniable! I can't see GBP suing Golovkin for breach of contract, when it was their fighter which was caught. I can see GGG having a hard time suing Canelo for damages, but I can see where they can both part ways until a later date, just like Wilder and Ortiz!

GBP promotion canceled khan vs Peterson rematch and berto vs ortiz rematch off of failed tests. those fights were canceled on the spot.

khan was supposed to fight a Peterson rematch in may 2012. Peterson failed a test and the fight was canceled the week before the fight. khan fought danny 2 months later instead July 2012

Ortiz vs berto was scheduled for June 2012. berto test positive in may 2012. fight got canceled and ortiz went on and fought lopez in june instead.

i brought up both of these instances because they both happened under gbp watch. and they canceled fights. they had a zero tolerance policy.
