True. It's out of GGG's hands. He signed a contract to fight and if Canelo isn't charged, Golovkin has no grounds for pulling out.

Another thing to remember - the WBC ordered this fight to happen, which means it's a mandatory defence for GGG. He would be stripped of the WBC belt if he made the decision to pull out on his own.

Good point. Though I think WBC would be a bit more quick to order another fight as oppose to stripping him. They want those sanctioning fees asap. As well as the big name that comes with it. But, you could be right though.

There were no great fighters at MW then, except maybe Pirog, but if there had been, GGG would have fought them for sure. He tried to make fights with Martinez, Quillin, Sturm, Barker and Geale when they were champs and they all turned him down. He also signed to fight Pirog, but Pirog got injured training and retired.

And I dont knock him for it. That wasn't his fault. Now it's GREAT!!!

if the canelo fight gets called off, saunders isn't available. he just postponed his defense to June.

so saunders wouldn't be available til the fall and ggg wouldnt sit out til then. so he would have to make a mandatory in the mean time. wbc or ibf

BJS and Murray are both promoted by Frank Warren. If BJS got the chance to fight GGG this summer I'm 100% sure that some arrangement would be made to allow it to happen.

I'm not so sure about that. Both fighters agreed to be tested, so there must be language that states the penalties of failing the test or what's the point of testing?

That's the point I'm tying to make by saying NSAC dropped the ball and won't even follow it's own failed tests protocol.

NSAC is investigating how Canelo may have ingested the banned substance, but the fact that he did is undeniable! I can't see GBP suing Golovkin for breach of contract, when it was their fighter which was caught. I can see GGG having a hard time suing Canelo for damages, but I can see where they can both part ways until a later date, just like Wilder and Ortiz!

They indeed can and will sue GGG if he pulled out of the fight without NSAC saying Canelo was guilty. They'd essentially say Gennady pulled out of the fight for no reason at all which will cause irreversible financial hardships for GBP and the state of Nevada. Which is what it'd look like, legally that is.

golovkin was the same draw as Ward at the time & the whole anyone from 154 to 168 can get it & then came Andre & all of the sudden they didn't want 168....lol....If a fighter is in it for the $ then they should just say it, no shame in that, it's understandable....Andre would of destroyed him then & now.
