williams is overrated. he was long and sloppy AF. everyone with a little bit of skill was able to hit him. if neanderthal margie (73'' r) was able to land 1k punches, may (72'' r) wouldnt have had too many problems fighting that lanky sob.
cotto, meh. on his best day, hes still too easy to hit.
ssm, probably the toughest name mentioned.

i get it. people dont like may. doesnt make him ungreat.

If you read the entirety of my original post you would notice I didn't say he wasn't great. Just overrated. And no, it is not a foregone conclusion he beats any of those fighters. Not when he got gifts against Castillo, washed up Oscar and flat-footed Maidana.

hhhmmmm.....great but overrated. hes not super duper great, just regular great. ok, how many are universally recognized as super duper great ?!?!? short list ?!?!?

          so.........
no such thing as a mismatch
every sap with a pair of gloves on has 50/50 chance

btw, there are such things as close but clear fights

''we need to see every fight .''

and why is it all mays fault that some fights didnt happen

anyway, id bet every penny i had on may vs those you mentioned, prime for prime.

Apparently it went over your head. The idea that if you set the bar at the top, ie., call yourself the best ever or greatest, you now invite speculation and doubt. Unless you think Floyd was the greatest fighter who ever lived then there is room to suggest he is overrated and NOT The Best Ever.

                on the flip side.....

what more did ali have to do

                yes, athletes can be overrated
but some are truly and legitimately great

                opinions will most definitely vary

                  "Neither" is a better choice.

Neither were over rated! Both changed the game and dominated with ease! 100% Fact
