Yes, Wilder vs Povetkin was postponed, pending an investigation, and the investigation ended with Povetkin being found guilty and sanctioned.

The facts we know are that Alvarez failed two drug tests a few days apart. The onus is on him to explain the circumstances of his explanation and show some evidence.
The investigation is suspect because Nevada has an interest in the fight happening. The only true investigation has to be carried out by an agency with no dog in the fight.
Finally it's true that low levels of clen can indicate meat contamination, but low levels can also mean the drug was ingested several days prior to testing and a trace amount still remains.
