Hatton is the most under-rated fighter in the world, by a country mile.
Who thinks Hatton is Overrated?

If u made this post to prove how little u know about boxing, id say u accomplished it.Originally posted by boxingfan420I saw the Hatton versus Colozo (I think thats his name) and I dindt see anyuthing special, other than some englishman ghetting his face smacked repeatedly by the hometown champ.
Colozo, other than the slow start and knock down) boxed the hell out of hatton, landed more punches, cleaner punches, and just plain out boxed this kid.
And what happens, the HYPED up englishman gets the ****ing belt just so we can have a new "star" to watch. What a bunch of horse ****.
Hatton has got nothing, and he'll get worked by some premier fighters here in the states.
Sure he had energy and kept being aggressive in the bout, but he got SMASHED in the last round.
WHAT A JOKE. **** HATTON AND his nutt hugging lovers here. He lost that fight, we all know it. Colozo deserves a rematch at the least.
Hes a joke? no, ur a ****in joke kid. Did u know hatton went up a weight class to take that fight? Did u know Hatton was fighting a southpaw? Did u know Hatton struggles agaisnt southpaws, and has his entire career? Did u even know that Hattons first name was Ricky?
The fact that u r completely oblivious to the fact that Hatton is, and will always be, the king of the junior welterweight division, is a joke. He has dominated that division for years now, beating all the top competition. Put this kid against castillo, carrales, cotto, and even mayweather at 140 pounds, and ur gonna see an extremely competitive fight. I say he knocks them all out, but loses in a 12 round decision to mayweather.
And u didnt even mention how he got rocked in the 12th round of the collazo fight, and managed to recover in under 30 ****in seconds!!! Hell, u didnt even know that collazo was actually his name!!!
Get the hell outta here, unless u actually know what ur talking about!!!Comment

but they ARENT in the same weight class, nor will they ever be. and if pacman some how gained all the muscle and weight to fight hatton at 140 or 147, or anyone at that weight, pacman would get rocked and ****in KOed. SHUTUP KID!!! the only boxers u know of are the superstars!!Originally posted by boxingfan420I am sure Pacman will gooble him up no problem if they are near the same weight.Comment

Forget Hattons name? u should take a break from what ur saying here buddy, ur a bull**** spree.Originally posted by boxingfan420You got some good points on all subjects. BUt I hate when people make excuses for the outcome of fights to prove their point.
This whoolle thing about going up and down in weight and being effected is somewhat of a myth to me.
Fighters train hard, they are in shape at any weight. Even when theyu are not in shapem they are somewhat in shape.
And I am sure Hatton sparred with many sotuhpaws before the fight. He was ready, he came to the states with all this hype and got worked in my book.
We'll forget this guys name after he gets dropped within his next 2 fights. Knocking out Zab Judah? Don't think so on that one either.
Going up in weight has nothing to do with being in shape for the weight. Its a matter of being comfortable. Hatton very fluent and comfortable at junior welterweight. Why hatton would pick a natural welterweight southpaw is way beyond me, but it was a horrible pick. I think he got comfortable with the weight by the 12th round, and then got got off guard by an outstanding left hook i believe from collazo. In his next fight at 147, give him 3 rounds to get comfortable with the weight.
And u definetly cannot judge him as being over-rated quite yet. U can suspect him of being over-rated, but u cannot state it yet. give him 1 or 2 more fights before u call him over-rated. Being undefeated in 41 pro bouts is a huge task, and u gotta be truly great to accomplish it.
Mark my words here, im willing to bet my life on it, Hatton will shut all of u up in his next fight, and if he eventually fights carrales or castillo, he'll stop all this hating. He just has to avoid slick southpaws at this pointComment

yeah, and you'be got Ricky's **** in your mouth! Yes, I know plenty about boxing. I know one of your Hatton nutthuggers in here claimed he would KO Gatti which I don't thick would happen.
I know plenty about boxing. More than you I am sure. And by you saying "Hatton is and ALWAYS WILL BE the jr Middleweight KIng" than I know you are just some bias prick from the UK and with HATTONs **** in your mouth.
And yes, I did mentioned him getting his faced pounded and his ass handed to him in the last round. I mentioned it in a follow up post in the same thread.
So I say again, how does getting rocked (and so what if you recover you still got rocked) and continuelly being punished the "championship" round constitute a victory over Collazo who clearly was the better fighter that night?
Stop making excuses that he has trouble with southpaws. Like I said before, I am sure Hatton sparred with many southpaws before the fight and he still got worked.Comment

ANd yeah, it's a damn fine accomplishment to win 40 fights in any weightclass by any fighter. He deserves tremendous respect for that, but this guy will not match up with the best in the US or from other countries. Now Calzaghie, thats one mean mother effer.Comment

again, take a break, u really have no idea what ur talking about on this topic. i dont doubt ur overall knowledge on the sport, but u dont know hatton as u have only seen that one fight. Do i think ricky hatton won the collazo fight? yes i do, but i could see it going other way as well. i really could.Originally posted by boxingfan420yeah, and you'be got Ricky's **** in your mouth! And i do over-rate hatton because i AM a hatton fan. Whos ur favorite fighter? mayweather? well im sure u over-rate him as well, or whoever u favorite is. Its almost instinct to think ur favorite fighter could beat a lot of other fighters.
But the fact that u dont think its possible for hatton to KO gatti, proves how much u know about ricky hatton. Just stop hating on the man after one fight. U have a right to ur opinion, but u shouldnt yell it out like its a fact, and making fun of the guy for giving u a great fight and probably 10-15 more exciting fights in the future!
And saying hatton has trouble against southpaws is a fully legitamate excuse. His only KD came from one, and everyfight he has truly struggled with has been against a southpaw.
Hence him getting rocked in the 12th round. Not being used to seeing left hooks come from that angle is something that is extremely hard to get used to, and collazo landed a perfect punch.
And sry for gettin all pissed off a you, i get worked up when people hate on other fighters like that. my bad.Comment

It's all good. This is a great debate. I know I had to make some good points and you made some great ones. I could speculate his being over rated rather than stating it, that is true. But I just am upset for Collazo cuz I truly believe he won the fight.
That is my main arguement is that I feel he won hands down.
And I still think, you need to be ready whoever you fight. Yes maybe it was a bad decision to pick Collazo for this fight, but the decision was made, he watched tapes, he trained, I am sure with ONLY southpaws too.
Either way let's hope he knocks some heads and gives boxing another star to root for.
And, I am not bias or favorite to any fighter. DLH is my fav and a heroe becuase he is from Los Angeles, like me, and I'd love to see him fight Winky Wright at 154. Do I think he will win, no. Could he win yes, if it is his best performance of all time. And I am trully hoping this fight happens more than the proposed dlh vs pbf.
It would be a masterpiece of a fight because of their styles and veteran knowledge.
OK Done posting for the next week.Comment
