When it is left up to the judges it is always an opinion. I know the rules thanks. You honestly think Hatton deserved to win that fight ? C'mon man , you take a champions belt away you better make it convincing. This is boxing though...just look at DLH/STURM and it is the same comparison. Collazo isnt excatly being showcased for the next big superfight at welter. We all know how boxing works , you of all people should realize this.

Your other posts in this thread were okay, but this was just unnecessary. Seriously, don't do that, man... definitely not in the NSB section, at any rate.

I do think that Hatton is overrated. He's a good pressure boxer, but that's about as far as it goes. Judging by his fight against Collazo, he will have problems against slick fighters. However, we must keep in mind that was his FIRST fight at the 147 limit, so maybe we were just seeing the effects of not being completely comfortable at a certain weight, we'll have to wait until his next fight to tell, I suppose. Collazo is also a southpaw, which might have made it a bit more difficult for Hatton as well.

I've never been overly impressed by him. He does have decent upper-body movement, and he has insane stamina, but he probably won't be able to deal with the really slick fighters. He might be able to beat a guy like Zab, because Zab gets wild in the ring, and he's a bit chinny, and Hatton has decent power from what I can see... enough to KO Judah, at any rate. I do not think, however, that he will be able to beat Floyd, as Floyd is far better than Collazo on Collazo's best day, and that's just the way things are.

Hatton could have a shot at beating guys like Cotto and Castillo, though, because they'd fit better for his style. Cotto also has a suspect chin, which would more than likely play into Hatton's favor as he can't resist trading with a guy, and Hatton has a decent chin on him. Castillo also will stand in there with a guy, but he has a better chin, but I don't think he's quite as quick as Hatton, though perhaps he is stronger, and he probably does not have quite the workrate either.

So, overall, I think Hatton is a bit overhyped, but not without some reasoning behind it.

I dont think Hatton is overrated apart from a few select fans.
He may not be the most skilled, but he gets the job done, and is going to provide us with some damn exciting fights down the line.
          I hope, anyways.

You got some good points on all subjects. BUt I hate when people make excuses for the outcome of fights to prove their point.

This whoolle thing about going up and down in weight and being effected is somewhat of a myth to me.

Fighters train hard, they are in shape at any weight. Even when theyu are not in shapem they are somewhat in shape.

And I am sure Hatton sparred with many sotuhpaws before the fight. He was ready, he came to the states with all this hype and got worked in my book.

We'll forget this guys name after he gets dropped within his next 2 fights. Knocking out Zab Judah? Don't think so on that one either.

Colozo, other than the slow start and knock down) boxed the hell out of hatton, landed more punches, cleaner punches, and just plain out boxed this kid.

And what happens, the HYPED up englishman gets the ****ing belt just so we can have a new "star" to watch. What a bunch of horse ****.

Hatton has got nothing, and he'll get worked by some premier fighters here in the states.

Sure he had energy and kept being aggressive in the bout, but he got SMASHED in the last round.

WHAT A JOKE. **** HATTON AND his nutt hugging lovers here. He lost that fight, we all know it. Colozo deserves a rematch at the least.
YOU OWNED YOURSELF. by watching "JUST" THE CALLAZO FIGHT. you cant make a judgement about a fighter. i have seen majority of hattons fights. i know hes a beast.

Hatton will have major problems against slick, who are not only fast punchers but are fast on their feet, and can throw in combinations, ala PBF, who also happens to be a master boxer and one of the smartest individuals in the ring.

Hatton would just be getting drilled with combinations all night as he comes in verses Floyd.

The only chance that Hatton has against Floyd is if Floyd doesn't have a high punch output, and only throws one punch at a time (sort've like KT did). But PBF is way too smart for that, and would let his hands go and absolutely punish Hatton with 3-4 maybe even 5 punch combinations as Hatton comes forward.

If Hatton sits on the outside and tries to box Floyd, he'll get embarrassed.

                      Speed: Mayweather

Chin: Hatton (though Mayweather's is also very good)

Power: Hatton (Though I think neither of them can hit very hard at 147)

                      Movement: Mayweather

                      Defense: HHHHUUUUGGGGEEEEEE advantage for Mayweather

Stamina: Mayweather (at 147 has the advantage here. Hatton looked absolutely exhausted at the later rounds of the Collazo fight. Floyd on the other hand spars 15 minute rounds... I don't think I've seen that man break a sweat yet)

Stylistic advantage: Mayweather (Yes, Hatton is has a style that can trouble Floyd, it also seems obvious that Floyd also has a style that can trouble Hatton)
