Do you realize you're agreeing with what he said in the article? Lol he just beat the guy with the best skill set to nullify his right hand. A technically sound, southpaw in Ortiz was currently his worst matchup.
The only other guy with a chance to take away his punch for a fight would be a game Fury, and the athletic qualities of the two don't even make that a certainty. Fury is agile for a man his size, but it'd be interesting to see it contrasted with Wilder's twitchy unorthodox assault. He's hard to time because of the movement. That's a very intriguing scrap.
Wilder v. AJ is a first first come, first serve affair b/c both have massive holes in their defense.
Joshua is dead stiff but he's great at putting combos together and pretty damn good at keeping guys off balance with level changes. But no one can deny that he's there for right hands all fight. VK was throwing incredibly slow shots that were getting home. The tape is kind of startling when you realize how stiff AJ looked.
Deontay is open to any counter from a guy that holds position after Wilder shoots his 1-2, the problem is that's easier to do for a southy than an orthodox fighter. And Wilder is much faster than some seem to realize. He has faster hands and reflexes than any HW he'd meet at the top of the food chain right now. Still those counters are there to be had at any point in a fight with him.
AJ v. Wilder is a true 50/50 scrap. A game Fury v. Wilder is more so a 60/40 scrap. But that's a big if on Fury. He has a ways to go.
