I get it. I'm assuming (no disrespect) that you don't follow the British press on AJ's purse splits.

If you look at the % breakdowns you'll see that Wilder will absolutely get something close to 40% (likely no higher).

He gets that number for the same reason Parker gets 33%.

They're expecting a pot size of around $40 million for the Parker fight. (Really $33 - $40 million). AJ gets $22 - $26 million

For Wilder that projection will go up by several million; likely closer to $50 million. (So the range is $40 - $50 million) Why? Sponsorship $, TV Rights, misc. will all be higher for his fight. So AJ will make $24 - $30 million. AJ's biggest pay day.

The pot size for Klitchsko was around $40 million. They split it 50/50. AJ pocketed $20 million. Why is it lower than the anticipated Wilder scrap? The US TV rights and sponsor money will be higher by millions, plus they'll sell more UK PPVs for the undisputed crown now that AJ s where he is; there's a premium on that.

Seems fair. If Wilder beats Joshua then he is deserving of the higher split in the rematch.

      Am I wrong?

      !! Anorak, your thoughts?

You wilder fans have lost grip of reality

The reality is wilder had the worst resume of any hw champ and is a typical American hype job product who will lose

He couldn’t even sell out his last fight

          He makes 1.5m
Per fight and is now suddenly demanded 15m lmao by asking for insane splits

He should be grateful aj will fight him and stop pricing himself out

He is no better than the other American fool Joshua knocked out

Martin wasn’t it ? Yeah he got 6m as champ

Wilder gets that much and makes triple his highest pay day

Guess what wilder is another fight for aj,
          Nothing special
Rabid fans, of which you are, aren't rational thinkers. Who has Joshua beaten besides Klitscho? It's not Wilder or Joshua's fault there aren't any bigger names heavyweights to fight (don't say Fury, he's a joke). Those two are the biggest names in the sport at the moment and Wilder shouldn't be fighting for chump change.

And Wilder will be making 10x what he's accustomed to at 30%. Joshua will be lucky to make 1.5x. See how this works? Joshua is such a massive draw almost anything offered to Wilder is fair.

This is the point a lot of you guys miss. The incremental increase in revenue from doing a fight against, say , David Haye at Wembley, versus wilder at Wembley. Why do you think it is?
At 60/40 Joshua would make more from fighting vs haye

Just like only a fool believed Calzaghe was the best in his division during his era. Again, aside from the money you are all still stuck on, from a legacy perspective, provided both keep winning, his legacy would be tainted if he never fought Wilder (except in the UK, where you guys cling on ANY decent fighter that comes from there and label him "the best" even when they refuse to fight anyone outside of the US).

To put it into perspective and to perhaps help you think a bit, let's use Mayweather vs Pacquiao as an example. Had Mayweather not fought him, his legacy would've been tainted and by waiting so long to fight him, he still left a lot of doubt as to who was the best at their prime.

Think beyond the "15+ mil" for a few seconds and realize that the point I was making was about legacy, not their bank accounts.

                    That's a fair enough split.

                      Are you serious ?

                      Wilder 50-50 or no fight

Where is the legacy in that ?

Wilder if he wins becomes a star

Floyd took 35 percent vs Oscar to become a star

Yet wilder deserves 40 or more ?

Use your own analogy for wilder and you will see Beyoncé is simply cashing himself out
