Comments Thread For: Wilder Would Accept 40% - If Joshua Gets The Same in Rematch

DEONTAY WILDER claimed it would be "easy" to agree a deal to fight Anthony Joshua and revealed the exact split he would accept to make it happen. The Bronze Bomber beat Luis Ortiz last weekend to leave himself perfectly set up for a shot at Joshua, should the British IBF and WBA champion emerge victorious against WBO champion Joseph Parker at the end of the month.

First sign of compromise although he would be better taking the Whyte fight first in my view (he will pocket good $ for that alone, but also build up fight and bigger & against Joshua)

Thats generally how rematch clauses work anyway dont they?? The loser has to take the smaller % percentage in the rematch. Good to know hes willing to accept 60-40. Hearn probably wants it more 65-35 though.

Should be no rematch clause, and 50/50 split if in England and 60/40 for Joshua if in the states.

AJ and Hearn will never agree to that. The problem is, everyone makes "demands" before negotiations. That's why they are called negotiations. No one gets everything they want. Parker made demands, but Hearn got back with them after Parker talked to the media. Whereas Wilder talks to the media, and Hearn says "that's it, I give up!"

Team Wilder keeps making concessions, while Hearn keeps talking about Miller. Everyone knows who wants this fight and who doesn't.

It will happen in 2019. 2017 was one of the best years ever for boxing, 2018 is proving to be disappointing. But 2019 looks like there should be at least a few really great match-ups.

60-40 is a fair split. The fight will be huge. I would expect about 2 million PPV buys in the Us alone. We could see comparable numbers in the UK. Joshua would easily pocket 50 million.

We don’t want Wilder vs Whyte.

Personally I still don’t agree. Even if wilder was to win does that mean he’ll start selling out stadiums and selling millions of ppvs and generating purses of £15 million plus per fight? Probably not.
