40% is still very generous to Wilder considering at the time of the fight AJ would have 3 belts along with his superior drawing power. 30-35 is more realistic and probably where the fight gets made.

I understand why that makes sense to a layman, but that's just not how boxing works.

Parker is getting approximately 33.3%. There's no way Wilder deserves less than that. He's a much bigger star, has the most important belt instead of the lead important belt, and brings the US to the table instead of New Zealand.

Mandatories are paid 25-30%. You're not going to get an undefeated heavyweight to unify with you for 30%.

Mandatories get 25-30% of the purse bid not the entire event! ...... Wilder is asking for 40% of the entire event, that’s huge considering the massive difference in drawing power between the 2.
