I'm 16 so I guess I'm still growing. I'd almost definently try boxing if there was a gym nearby. The only gym nearby is a EXTREME Muay Thai Kickboxing Gym. Everytime I look inside there is like one or two people inside.

I'm an amateur boxer and i've been in the game for 4-5 months. I've been in the ring a few times and I train with my coach everytime he asks of me to train and that's usually alot. Although i'm still young in the sport of the sweet science, I plan to get something out of it, so basically it's like an all or nothing stage of my life. I have the ambition and the desire for myself to come out on top. Yes I know pro fighting and amateur fighting isn't a walk in the park and shouldn't be taken lightly so I try to prepare myself everyway I possibly can. I hate to brag on my coach, but I feel as if I have every right too, I don't doubt him and I can't doubt someone who has coached 32 years and has had boxers win plenty of national and state championships, just to mention his son had won nationals 7 times and state 5 times. Plus my coach knew all of the big names when they were my age, so to me I feel like I can't be in a better situation..if you know where you want to go he'll take you there..

For fun, i decided to step into the ring with him. He didnt look to strong, i was definetly the stronger of the 2 of us. He was about 2 years older then me. But when he we started, i had my hands covering every inch of my face, but he somehow got a powershot so smash into my jaw.

My feet turned into led and they felt as hot as magma. it incredibly painful. By the time i came to anothe punch was comin so i just dropped to ground. This guy wasnt even a good pro, but he was good enough to do some real damage. i thought i was the **** and everything cause i was one of the best in my gym at the time. i faced that guy and got my ass handed to me on a silver platter.

I believed the guy went on to win his next two fights, and got KOed in his next 4 fights, and quit the sport.
Thanks. That's the kind of thing I'll need to experience to actually know whether it's a reality for me or not. That post actually wants to make me work harder though.

              14. So I feel like I have a very good advantage, and I box at the 145 weight class, but i'm around 6 foot. So I'm at great advantages as long as I use them and my coach would accept nothing short of what I can do.

I started kickboxing recently out in Suffolk. It's fun and, basicly, takes the upper body of boxing so I learn about boxing too. But there are deffinate differences, stance/spinning back fist etc.
