Hey, you live in New Jersey too. What county do you box in?

It will take you years to see what it is that you want to see. Work hard, be true to the game with what it takes and you could do it.

Not to be discouraging or anything, but achieving a title, or even winning in a professional bout, is incredibly hard. I remember a guy at my gym. I wasnt at the gym, so i didnt know of him when he was training there, but he eventually he turned pro. he was undefeated in 2 pro bouts and everyone though he was the ****.

For fun, i decided to step into the ring with him. He didnt look to strong, i was definetly the stronger of the 2 of us. He was about 2 years older then me. But when he we started, i had my hands covering every inch of my face, but he somehow got a powershot so smash into my jaw.

My feet turned into led and they felt as hot as magma. it incredibly painful. By the time i came to anothe punch was comin so i just dropped to ground. This guy wasnt even a good pro, but he was good enough to do some real damage. i thought i was the **** and everything cause i was one of the best in my gym at the time. i faced that guy and got my ass handed to me on a silver platter.

I believed the guy went on to win his next two fights, and got KOed in his next 4 fights, and quit the sport.

I rather be hit bare fisted, than hit flush by a boxing glove.

It's just a big "WHHHOOOOOOSSSH" feeling that you get, and become very light headed / dizzy and wobbly. Not to mention a pretty bad headache.

30-40 amateur fights, 17 pro fights.

I really got into boxing watching Mike Tyson coming through the ranks on Grandstand, and Nigel Benn amateur fights. I just wanted to BE Tyson and Benn! I was only a kid at the time, and didn't win my first amateur title until changing my style after Tyson got thrown in jail and Benn became much more of a thinker, lol.

But anyway with the reffing, it was esy for me since being in the ring as longas I had been. Generally, you contact your local boxing board and they will get you acclamated and then you will start judging first. After a bit you get the oppertunity to referee. Its not as easy as it looks, in the amatuers we are there to make sure that nobody is seriously hurt. Yet we want to allow a guy to finish a bout if he is able. However, I always caution on the side of saftey. The crowd often will get on you for calling a bout but its ok, the kid will fight another day. Its alot of fun man. Look into USA Boxing on the net and they should have contacts available in your state. Its alot of fun and I recommend it to any true boxing fan.

I'm not a boxer, but I am interested in it now. If I was a boxer though I'd be in the smallest division(minimumweight). I'm 5'5 and I only weigh somewhere between 100-105 pounds.
