I guess we have this idea of what "looks" like the best, especially when we've had the smaller guys rule boxing over the last 20 years. However, if no other heavyweight can beat Wilder, isn't he the best by default?
It wouldn't be by default. That is what he is because he's earned it.

It wasn't PPV is the point.

Look the reality is Wilder said it & Hearn agreed to it so as long as Joshua signs off on it it sounds like its all good & a non-issue. Don't matter "what makes him think he can dictate the purse split". He did. Hearn agreed. As long as Joshua agrees its a done deal.
The fact that he even thought about 50-50 at one time shows he is really delusional. I don't know what kind of pot he smokes over there in Sweet Alabama but he ought to take it down a peg before giving statements to the press. One day he will fly like a kite if he isn't careful.

I really hope this fight is next. With Canelo testing positive for clen and the fact he got blown out by Floyd and many thought he lost to GGG, the "face of the sport" position is open.

AJ or Wilder wins in spectacular fashion and not only will the HWT division be back but we will have a new face of the sport.

Wilder IMO should take 65/35 or 60/40 split and go to Wembley this summer.
Hearn said it would be October at the earliest if it's Wilder next which I think it will be. Hopefully it lands in Vegas.

I think Joshua should get the Wilder fight out of the way and then sign with HBO since they will put everything into him and he'll be a bigger star on HBO then he ever would on Showtime.

I don't know if HBO is the place to be anymore. A few years ago I'd agree. This year so far SHO has put on the much better cards-except for the outstanding Superfly card. However they barely spent anything.

SHO has more resources and the CBS platform.

HBO has gone to crap. Their only good boxing now is GGG-Canelo (which I'm sure they want a fight 3 & 4) and the Super Flyweight division. Everything else is boring showcases or low budget fights with no compelling story line. 115 is only because they can throw $600-700k and give us a triple header.

However I think HBO are all about a mega star or mega event so they are throwing everything at that. I think they only signed the likes of Andrade and Jacobs (two excellent fighters) to deals is because they are in GGG-Canelo division and will be used as PPV B-sides at some point to fill in time between the ext chapters of GGG-Canelo. I think to them Joshua will be that mega star that they can showcase twice a year and will intend to build him into the next PPV monster and will throw a lot at it if he's holding all four titles.

Ok, that makes sense. Good post.

I had Joshua edging the fight before I saw Wilder/Ortiz. After that fight, I am taking Wilder by TKO. Joshua is way too slow to beat Wilder, and, when Wilder connects, it will be lights out for AJ (despite being the more skilled fighter).

The fight is not happening next as much as I'd prefer that. AJ will most likely fight in the US and Wilder will do the same in UK. This is what I see happening - provided Big Baby and Whyte win their respective fights.
The fights THEMSELVES show Wilder is a bigger risk of losing ,even if you deny that .Not just getting stunned /knocked down in pro ranks more but rnds LOST .

Wilders style has no advantage against Joshuas aggressive counter punch style , hes going to EASILY throw over Wilders lead arm ,over his shoulder and connect with a right and thats end game bc Wilders chin will NOT stand up to many of Joshua power shots.

Ortiz outside of Joshua has the BEST chance ,but we wont be seeing an Ortiz rematch again . Joshua will fight him if Ortiz becomes a marketable fight in the other sanctioning body .

"There is a video of Emmanuel Steward talking about the upcoming fighters and he spoke about Fury and Wilder. I think his prediction is gradually coming to pass. "

The above is YOUR quote .

The problem is Joshua wasnt in the picture at the time he made it . In fact there is no way Steward would have picked against Joshua NOW anyway , it would have been his dream fighter ,

Which is a 6'6 super HW with power and speed who likes close range yet able to control from a distance and listens to instructions like a sponge and actually thrives on combination punching .

Steward had no clue a guy this level at 240 plus was the one who he actually warned Klitchko about and that Wlad would have his defining fight before his career was over !

Wilder would be unteachable to Stewards approach and would not like Stewards hard lined approach to training for refining skills bc thats not what Wilders abilities incorporates .

Can Anthony Joshua speak for himself? This guy is only blowing smoke. Until I hear Joshua wants to fight Wilder coming from his own lips, then I would be convinced that Wilder/Joshua would be next. This is nothing more than spin control coming from Eddie Hearn.
