I read this as: ‘we’re interested in negotiating a big multi fight deal with HBO, we can’t say that cos then they’ll screw us down on the money. I can say what I want about next opponents, cos once the deals done HBO will work with us on opponents and we’ll just blame them if it’s not Wilder’

He should be ridiculed for considering anything else.

Ridicule him all you want, but Hearn is one of the best promoters in the world and he knows the smart business move is to fight a Jarrell Miller, or a Povetkin mandatory, get a couple more big paydays under you belt, let AJ develop a little more, let Wilder age a little more, then you cash out with the biggest fight, with a rematch clause, so at worst you've got four big paydays left, and likely five or more as Wilder is unlikely to go 2 for 2 against AJ.

Eddie doesn't say this with any conviction. I don't think AJ is ducking, but Hearn don't want this fight.

Then again, hearn is a proven liar, can we believe anything that comes out of his mouth? I'll believe this fight happens when it's singed.
So this is wilders nuthugging fans new narrative when joshua signs to fight beyonce.....But his fans dont want it doe. pathetic.

Both fighters have flaws. Wilder will never out box Joshua so he needs a knockout to win. Either fighter can knock the other out and I'd be surprised if this went to a decision. I want to see this fight

What rematch? The guy fights on free to air because no one pays to watch him fight. What makes him think he can dictate the purse split when he doesn't have anyone paying to watch him fight?

TBH....that's absolutely terrible footwork and boxing by Wilder. However, I do recall him sending that same opponent to the hospital after almost decapitating him later in the fight.

I guess we have this idea of what "looks" like the best, especially when we've had the smaller guys rule boxing over the last 20 years. However, if no other heavyweight can beat Wilder, isn't he the best by default?
