Or are they only bogus when it suites your agenda?
The numbers from BARB are based on 5100 households. They aren't genuine you ******.

They don't know the PPV sales. They estimate.

Sky don't release any PPV numbers, so of course they are an estimate. The point is .. are they a reliable estimate? And BARB numbers are as reliable as they come.

"The Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB) is the organisation that compiles audience measurement and television ratings in the United Kingdom. It was created in 1981 to replace two previous systems whereby ITV ratings were compiled by JICTAR (Joint Industry Committee for Television Audience Research), whilst the BBC did their own audience research.

BARB is jointly owned by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising.

BARB numbers are extremely important to commercial television stations. The trading model that is used by television companies and advertising agencies depends on the number of people watching the shows, and the commercial attractiveness of those people. The advertising agency will pay the television station a certain amount of money based on the number of people watching a show. The BARB numbers are used to work this out. Higher BARB numbers usually mean more advertising revenue for the television station."

      Data gathering:

"BARB's current research contracts have been awarded to three different market research companies: RSMB, Ipsos MORI, and Kantar Media. The contracts run from January 2010 to the end of 2015, with options to extend further.

RSMB are responsible for survey design, quality control and calculation methodology. Ipsos MORI's role is to survey the characteristics of the television owning population, including an element of direct recruitment to the viewing panel. Kantar Media is responsible for establishing and maintaining the new BARB viewing panel. It has a separate contract covering meter panel installation, data retrieval, processing and audience reporting functions."

You are touting estimates for PPV numbers based on 5100 households. Sure those 5100 households will show you if something is popular, will it give you accurate numbers for the other 26 million households in the UK. NOPE.

What a great fight. My wife and I went to the fight and DVR'd it at home as well. Even in the really good seats some casuals were there just because they heard it was going to be a good fight and they bought their tickets same day. $700+ per seat and I think Ortiz vs wilder made them want even more of the sweet science.

Canelo GGG is the third highest gate in Nevada history and Canelo has been a ppv star and ggg also drew great ratings. Second we can’t be sure they sell 18k tickets. Barclays usually gives a ton of tickets away for their fights. I suspect they didn’t have to give many away for the Ortiz fight but we don’t know for sure.
**** the brits will travel for Aj like they did Hatton for floyd. Trust me. Not saying they'll break records but this fight does good numbers wherever they put it.

If Showtime boxing keeps putting on cards like this one they are going to put HBO's sports programming out of business soon.

This fight was so entertaining that I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch because Anthony Joshua isn't going fight Deontay Wilder next. Or I wouldn't mind seeing a Wilder vs Povetkin bout if Team Joshua insists on pursuing a bout with Jarrell Miller this Summer in Las Vegas if he defeats Joseph Parker.

King Wilders "popularity" has increased for all the right reasons. He's a no nonsense WARRIOR that wants boxing fans tuning in primarily to SEE what he does in the ring - ......how could any boxing fan not be interested in an Amercan heavyweight champion (after so long) willing to put his life & winning streak on the line to represent this nation!

For the sport, he's clearly above average in his mental makeup, and being the 214lb twig that he is/was - he abnormally hits like a mule kicks! Last weekend he performed under the bright lights not AT ALL losing his bearing by the drama the undefeated southpaw Ortiz brought to the table........

Wilder is also now a MUST SEE fighter for more good reason - he wants to test his skills against the very BEST! This is what fight fans ALWAYS COMPLAIN about and always say they want badly fixed in ALL divisions: the best calling out & actually fighting the best! He's the ONLY one seriously doing all the "calling out" in the division of the GIANTS!!: ALL HAIL THE Skinny powerful KING!!

It was wilder’s most exciting fight to date, I’m pretty sure after the first fight a lot more people would turn in to watch the rematch. Quite unlikely though, he’ll most likely fight breazeale if the aj fight falls through.
Wilder-Breazeale isn't a bad fight though, especially if it happens with the Joshua fight in hand for next
