idiot Golden Boy doesn't take 30% again federal courts forced Golden Boy to hand over their financial records for 2016. Canelo took home 80% and that was BEFORE the chavez fight. He was given a bigger percent for the GGG fight. GGG ain't seeing the same money Canelo got and the undercard was paid peanuts. JoJo got the biggest payday on the entire undercard and was paid 200K, the entire undercard was paid less then 500K



None of the undercard fighters get a dime from the PPV revenue they are all paid flat fees. GGG get's a flat fee and some PPV upside. Canelo with his Canelo Promotions are not paid flat fee or just a 1 time guarantee. He is the co-promoter and get's a cut of everything live gate, ppv sales, tv deals, merchandise ect. Again Canelo was given a 3M fight night purse reported by the state of Nevada when he fought Khan. Court document forcing Golden Boy to disclose their financial records said the which only had a 7M live gate and 27M revenue paid Canelo 80% of those profits.

Alvarez-Khan generated revenue of $27,707,448 and was Golden Boy’s most profitable fight of 2016. Khan made $6 million and Alvarez made $13,309,664 (80% of the net profits) while Golden Boy made net profits of $3,327,415.88.

And this was years ago. His new arrangement that's been reported states Canelo now takes home net profits close to 90%. Oscar said himself Canelo made 50M. And the fight generated 125M revenue just off the PPV and ticket sales alone. That's not even counting international PPVs, TV deals for Mexico and other countries. Canelo has one of the richest TV deals in Mexican history.

Golden Boy earned negative net income on 142 of 155 boxers (91.6%). Only 13 of 155 boxers (8.4%) made Golden Boy positive net income.

If this such a great promoter that can do wonders for Wilder's career, then why is this the case? These fighters aren't making much money or getting dollars of promotion thrown their way so why still no profit?

Oscar hasn't made any fighter any money yet. Canelo was already getting it, and most hardcore fans cant name 7 of his fighters off the top of the head. Ive yet to hear him mention any fighter of his' name on any major broadcast outside of Canelo. Dude needs to take a hike

you really are ****** that was directly after golden boy lost almost their entire roster in the haymon split. That's the reason for the lawsuit they were left with only about a dozen fighters and spent the money in the buy out haymon had to pay to sign up young amatures and prospects. Young fighters don't make a profit. They invested money in 2015 and 2016 on guys like Ryan Garcia, vergil Ortiz, etc just like they did 8 years ago when they signed a young 19 year old canelo and built him to the draw he is today. They went from only a handful of fighters in 2015 to over 100 fighters today including the biggest cash cow and a handful of the top prospects in all of boxing including Ryan Garcia who everyone lists as a can't miss superstar. If schaefer was so important then why is canelo pulling in bigger paydays today without schaefer and why didn't any of those guys who left sign with schaefer who started his own company almost 2 years ago.

First you say canelo wasn't taking home 80% or more of the revenue from his fights now you change your argument to we'll he accounted for too much of the revenue in 2105 and the first half of 2016. No shyt golden boy lost all their top fighters and had to rebuild their roster with prospects paying out large signing bonuses to scoop up top blue chip fighters who turned pro. Wilder was already a world champion and making over 1m purses after golden boy built him up. But since he left golden boy 3 years ago he is still making around the same paydays while canelo's paydays are night and day from what he was making 3 years ago.
