Young fighters don't make a profit. They invested money in 2015 and 2016 on guys like Ryan Garcia, vergil Ortiz, etc just like they did 8 years ago when they signed a young 19 year old canelo and built him to the draw he is today. They went from only a handful of fighters in 2015 to over 100 fighters today including the biggest cash cow and a handful of the top prospects in all of boxing including Ryan Garcia who everyone lists as a can't miss superstar. If schaefer was so important then why is canelo pulling in bigger paydays today without schaefer and why didn't any of those guys who left sign with schaefer who started his own company almost 2 years ago.

First you say canelo wasn't taking home 80% or more of the revenue from his fights now you change your argument to we'll he accounted for too much of the revenue in 2105 and the first half of 2016. No shyt golden boy lost all their top fighters and had to rebuild their roster with prospects paying out large signing bonuses to scoop up top blue chip fighters who turned pro. Wilder was already a world champion and making over 1m purses after golden boy built him up. But since he left golden boy 3 years ago he is still making around the same paydays while canelo's paydays are night and day from what he was making 3 years ago.
They lost fighters in 2014 dumb ass not 2016. So Canelo should not account for all of their money at this point. The floundering company still isn't making stars period. Canelo's money still isn't the 50 million you stated, nor is he taking80%of the overall revenue because HBO and the providers get a cut off the top. The article only mentioned gate revenue So all of my points stand.

You got so caught up in trying to prove Canelo's wages that you went ahead and proved that GB can't build stars at this point.

wrong again Golden Boy promoted Wilder/Stiverne in 2015. The split between Golden Boy didn't happen until 2015.

And HBO doesn't get half the revenue are you ******. HBO get's a small percent. Cable/Satelite providers do get half of ONLY the PPV buys that is sold on Cable/Satelite systems. The fight did about 100M in US PPV buys alone. That's only what was sold on Cable/Satelite. That's not the only revenue of the fight. lol And those providers don't touch a dime of any of it. The fight had the 3rd largest live gate in history 27M. sold hundreds of thousand PPVs internationally and streaming in the US broadcast directly from RingTV with RingTV announcers on the broadcast NOT HBO announcers.

It had one of the largest closed circuit ticket sales at 75 bucks a pop.

You have the TV deals outside the United States including Mexico where Canelo has one of the richest deals in Mexican history and dozens of other countries. And once all that is added up Canelo takes home over 80% that's proven from court documents that golden boy was forced to release. After paying off cable/satelite providers Canelo/Khan generated 27M revenue for Golden Boy Promotions who then had to pay Khan 6M and Canelo took home 80% of the rest. After everything was counted and split golden boy only netted 3M of that 27M proving how much revenue Canelo through Canelo Promotions really makes.

Canelo/GGG after you pay the cable providers and add the live gate generated almost 75M in Revenue alone. And then you add up all TV deal money, closed circuit, international and streaming PPV buys, merchandise it easily topping 100M and this is money that HBO, Cable Providers are not touching. Once you are done paying GGG and everyone else Canelo takes home over 80% of the revenue.

Wilder/Stiverne was a purse bid dumbass so he still wasn't necessarily affiliated with GB. Again the break happened in 2014.

Also, if GB are such good promoters how did they manage to give up a 75-25 deal on the Cotto fight?

The 80% you keep talking about only referred to the gate. PPV is different. Hell the PPV numbers haven't even been verified so no one knows what the revenue is.

And lastly, how does any of this prove GB can promote? None of their fighters except Canelo turn a profit in 3 and a half years!

Side note- Its really hard to believe a $50million claim on the fight when Floyd wasn't even getting that when he sold 1.75 million and was his own promoter.

Diego, well it looks like you've gotten to 3. Keep it up!

Not a hater just not a fan of coked out racist cross-dressers who try to insert themselves where they don't belong.

As far as Garcia goes, he's quick, but we'll see how far he goes. Only a few FWs really developed into stars. No one really checks for the little guys

stop trying to move the goal post you were wrong. Golden Boy was the promoter for Wilder and the rest of the haymon fighters until 2015. That's when they split not 2014. Schaefer left in 2014 then their was a lawsuit against Schaefer and Golden Boy and Haymon remained working together the rest of 2014 until an arbitrator worked it out in 2015 which included a payout Haymon had to make to Golden Boy. Stop lying idiot I already provided you a link. In 2015 they split and Haymon created PBC directly after buying out remaining fighters under contract with Golden Boy.

Are you ****** the Khan fight only had a live gate of 7M so how did Canelo take home almost 14M from that fight? You make no sense. The fight generated 27M in revenue for Golden Boy that's the take Golden Boy took home for everything after they paid the Cable Providers their half on PPV buys you idiot. So yes we know exactly how much money the Canelo/Khan fight made for Golden Boy. This isn't BS spin that promoters release this is federal courts forcing Golden Boy to release internal financial documents. They didn't want this info out but after they sued Haymon the judge ordered them to release all their financials to prove they were damaged by Haymon. So we have all the records for most of 2015 and half of 2016. It's public record go look it up. They disclosed the inner workings of canelo's deal with them which has Canelo taking home 80% of everything Golden Boy makes on his fights. If you too ****** to understand this it's not my fault.
