AJ Wouldn't Have Lasted Against Ortiz

40+ seconds of Wilder getting hit. How does AJ survive that? He doesn't in my opinion. Wilder was eventually mostly out on his feet but was not dropped.
They say ortiz does not have power. Wlad could not drop Jennings but Ortiz destroyed him. Now, boxing cant be projected but what does it say about Ortiz's power?
how come AJ avoided Ortiz like a plague? Then you see some of them saying AJ would not have been in that position - how come he was in that position against Wlad?Comment

Wilder does not know how to faint with his jab? Are you trying to funny or deceitful here? AJ was being hit with 1-2 for 10 rounds by Wlad to start each round. He even admitted to it and it took him the 11th round to make adjustment.
AJ will be an easier fight for Wilder than Ortiz. Saturday was Wilder's biggest challenge. Remember this post!Comment

Whats one fight compared to a whole career?
Wlad is the biggest puncher ever imo. Not the best puncher, but the biggest. He caught Joshua flush with a punch he put everything into, his famous right hand. Even caught him with a leaping left on the way down for good measure. AJ dusted himself off, defended himself brilliantly, took more than a few bombs over the next couple rounds, then went on to knock Wlad out.
But nah, Ortiz, who has precisely one decent level ko, is comparable.

100%. AJ can press forward and shoot some straight shots looking to end it early but he's scared of power. He was so timid and nervous against Klit to start, he happily gave the centre of the ring for most of the fight.Ortiz was a tough fight for Wilder than AJ will be imo.
Ortiz is far more experienced and had the ability to parry Wilders jab from the southpaw stance and take his right hand away for most part. He didn't allow him to get comfortable with the jab so he wasn't comfortable throwing the right hand as he didn't have his distance.
His positioning and defense is better and he has that counter punching ability with both hands. He's not a bog standard southpaw that just probes and prods to set up the left, he has an educated right hand.
AJ is more robotic and basic, there isn't a great deal to figure out he has no head movement which is a huge no against Wilder a guy who arches that right hand. He can't miss with it and doesn't have to worry about being made to pay like he did vs Ortiz who would look to counter over the top with the left.
He's a sitting duck for that right hand.
AJ is more polished than Wilder but he's made to order I feel. He just hasn't the craft or experience to neutralise that right hand and if you can't take that right hand away you're in the ****.

Wilder isnt in the same stratosphere of ring general as Wlad is.100%. AJ can press forward and shoot some straight shots looking to end it early but he's scared of power. He was so timid and nervous against Klit to start, he happily gave the centre of the ring for most of the fight.
