I really can't believe people say "Floyd was his own boss." Was he really? Or was he a pawn that got used in order to build up a company for Haymon. That's not to say he didn't get rewarded immensely for it but to think that Haymon managed Floyd's businesses and career for free is laughable. Every fighter that signed with Haymon only did so because of what he did for Floyd. Who was going to invest nearly half a billion in a risky business like boxing wihtout a proven track record. Floyd's situation turned what it turned into out Haymon's necessity, not because Floyd is a great businessman. People need to really give Haymon his due, he got paid his percentage from Floyd while using him to build up his own company at the same time. Floyd would've been more than happy to license out his fights to the likes of GBP til the end.

David Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto; all fights that Pacquiao still has no log of actually paying his taxes for. With all of the time spent (with the interest and fees that were added on), as late as April 2017, Pacquiao was facing an alleged bill of over $75m in his home country.

Cost of living could be dirt cheap, but if you've only got maybe 2 fights left, owe more than you likely have in hard assets to your name, have eyes on running for the presidency in your home country, and have put it on yourself to carry the burden for everyone near you, it's pretty easy to see

exactly. he used floyd as bait to get fighters to sign with him then overpaid fighters. I don't believe floyd is some great business man either

                Probably him, lol.

Total current debt of $20k, total assets of ~$25k, education is already covered, good credit, and basically positioned to work a really good job for the next 30 years, before living/working for myself off of my investments.

No church being built off of my sweat, no other man's family dependent on me feeding his own wife/kids, and no issues with the tax man.

Pacquiao likely had world's more fun than I'll have at my peak, but this is a turtle race.

True. As opposed to living in Las Vegas full of temptations like casinos and strip bars. Pacquiao is also used to living in squalor; doesn't mind sleeping on hard floors side by side with his buddies even when he's already wealthy.
