What one boxer says isn't that relevant in an interview in regards to who hits harder between two other boxers. Unless it's a general consensus among multiple boxers who have sparred / fought the boxers being compared.
Most of the time , boxers have agenda and they therefore lie. Eric Molina was finished by Anthony Joshua in less time and with fewer punches. Yet, he claims Deontay Wilder punches harder. You want to know why? Because he wants to take credit for himself by getting people to believe that because he lasted as long as he did against Deontay Wilder, that it therefore makes him look good.
Results show otherwise! Anthony Joshua KO'ed Eric Molina with fewer punches and in less time than Deontay Wilder did. Ergo, PROVING that Joshua has greater power. Irrespective of what Molina might SAY.
Of course, one fight among a common opponent doesn't give us the full picture. However, Joshua has already shown better knockout feats in fewer bouts than Wilder has so far. He has knocked out tougher, more difficult and more durable opponents than Deontay Wilder has done.
