Ortiz brough that sweet Cuban boxing style to the table and Wilder, outgunned most of the fight, solved the problem and stopped the skilled King Kong. AJ is a basic boxer at best and will not present any of those problems to Wilder. True, he has his own qualities such as size and athleticism to match Wilder's but people need to stop saying he'll outbox Wilder. It won't happen.

Luis Ortiz is a better boxer than AJ

Ortiz was winning the fight before getting stopped by Wilder... Not sure he would be ahead vs AJ.
AJ doesn't lose many rounds as Wilder, who loses even to mediocre boxers like Washington, was was winning 5-0 before getting stopped a year ago.Last edited by oscar9992; 03-04-2018, 12:29 PM.

Yes he is, Ortiz is more skilled than most and he still beats most and if he works his way back up Ortiz is worthy of a REMATCH with Wilder who he was clearly beating before Wilder turned it around with that Power
AJ is young, strong and with more Power though

He didn't really solve the problem he just has superior stamina to old, fat Ortiz who wasted a lot of energy trying to get Wilder out of there in the 7th. Ortiz clearly had insufficient energy left by the tenth whilst Wilder was still explosive and took advantage of his fading opponent.

Yes, we can agree that Wilder is an atrocious boxer and has no intention to look sweet in there. But AJ isn't too far off IMO.

Wilder is very average boxer who gets outboxed often... Washington was winning 5-0 before he got stopped.
AJ barely loses rounds to that kinda boxers.

Joshua's style is basic but hugely effective, he inches forward trying to time your jab and slip and counter you, Ortiz wouldn't be able to take the power and he'd be forced onto the back-foot like Takam was (a pressure fighter)
