I'm almost always rooting for them but Cubans rarely catch a break in boxing despite their immense talent. That being said, props to Wilder and War Lara!

Yes, indeed! Wilder not only proved that he could punch but that he has a ton of heart and a chin granite chin to go with it also. He was hurt but refused to go down, He displayed that championship will and determination to stay on his feet. He proved that he's no punk either.

He definitely didn't show a granite chin. What I thought he showed though was high-quality defence when he was hurt. Ortiz had 30-40 seconds to put Wilder down in that 7th round and Wilder used his length really effectively to stay in the fight.

Ortiz made a mistake lunging in with a right hook in the 10th round when they traded shots and Wilder's power took the fight away from him.

I've never seen a fighter like Wilder, he can look so average at times but then he always seems to find a way to land that big right hand. Normally I'd say "his luck will run out eventually" but he just keeps winning.

I think AJ and Wilder has to be next after that performance.

Don’t love wilder but where are 80% of board who said Ortiz would beat Beyoncé wilder? As usual no one owns bad picks

Not arguing, with Klitschko it was tactical, with Ortiz he could barely throw a jab by the 8th round and was not in shape enough to try and apply pressure by that point, No fighter should get through the 7th and 8th like Wilder did, poor from Ortiz

I gotta agree, wilder can definitely take a punch and showed great resilience. I liked him this fight but I just hope no one overrates him now because aj will destroy him.

There will be a lot of broken American hearts if they don't think straight.

I tend to agree. It's more like he showered that he could stay upright while hurt, which is still impressive for a heavyweight. Either way, Wilder changed my perception of him last night and I would now favor him to defeat AJ.
