Smdh... Some people really just pretend to be boxing fans and have no idea what they're watching.

Have you ever been in a fight? What do you think happens when you blow your load trying to put someone away and then they come back at you hard?
AJ emptied the tank against klit and had nothing for like 3 rounds. Then he regrouped and knocked klit out. Why couldn't the cuban regroup? Because he is nearly 50 FFS. Anyone with half a brain knew how this would play out.

I always felt that Ortiz would gas, he is easily nearer 50 than 40.

Wilder did well to recover, but apart from that he looked typically unskilled and awkward.

When Ortiz got inside he had alot of sucess, Wilder is just so one dimensional.

I dont think you get it dude.

Boxing is a sport where exceptional power, exceptional heart and exceptional will can override skill.

By beating ortiz and outfighting him the way he did, wilder proved that he's a world class champion.

Boxing has chess like elements but boxing isn't chess. It's part strategy, part bloodsport. This is the hurt game.

I’m a Brit and would back AJ but there’s no doubting Wilder is a live opponent.
If they fought five times it wouldn’t surprise me if AJ won four. But with AJ’s flaws and Wilders big punch anything can happen and that’s why the fight needs to be made.
As for Ortiz, this was his big chance and he came in out of shape, even for a 50 year old. What a waste.

Before this fight i thought he was just an overrated milkman chopper. After this fight he proved he's a heavyweight champion.
I agree with that. I thought he was on course for a loss. Showed great character. Chin well and truly tested and gut check passed.
No one's perfect in this division, and last night added some more ****e to the inevitable AJ fight later on this year.

I don't think he can beat AJ, but then again I didn't think he could beat ortiz lol let alone stop him. Ortiz has never been down in his pro career and wilder put him down and stopped him.

You don't know what the **** can happen in boxing.

So he waited until 43 to turn professional?

And the video we have of him in amateur tournaments where he clearly looks like a very young man in his mid 20s, he was actually in his late 30s?!?

And your evidence for this is?

I also picked Wilder to win by knockout because Ortiz looked old and terrible in his last fight already and now with his high blood pressure and him getting even older he surely will have even more stamina issues and that showed. Wilder has good power, but there's a reason he has fought nothing but inhouse Haymon controlled fighters, as Ortiz is.

The rabbit punches from Wilder, the holding, then the doc suddenly giving Wilder extra time after he almost got stopped. Then the atrocious scorecards who all had Wilder up before the knockout. That is just purely disgusting and all set up to have that AJ unification where they all make a ton of cash and Wilder retires.

The HW division right now is the worst it has ever been.
Just give Wilder his props you butthurt haters!!
