Am trying to not believe that was a stalling tactics to give Wilder more time, but I cannot see the reason why the ref *Edit* (Doctor) came over to check him at that point in time, or why the ref stop the fight for the ring side to be clean at that point.

You had no break down of the fight......u picked wilder deeply rooting for ortiz to shut him up.u made excuses why wilder would even win (how pathatic is that) i told u already. In the words of naseem. All of wilders opponents are better then him. ( technically skill-wise) but the dude has a huge amount of power heart and determination which is almost scary how high it is. He is also a great finisher once he has you hurt there is no recovering unless the bell rings. This is a dangerous heavyweight. Complain about his skills balance everything u want but it doesn't matter for a fighter lile this he is fighting on grit alien one touch power and determination. I will be honest with you I have never seen a heavyweight like this which such freakish power and determination to where it easily could make him the number one heavyweight over all heavyweights. Everything you say is true, and boxing fans will be critical any way, I tuned in and seen Wilder getting pinged around the rinf by a slow, lazy jab HW, who the gassed and got overwhelmed on nothing more than stamina and fitness...... it was not a good pperformance in ANY boxing term lol

Both of them. The ref first came in to check his eye AFTER he had got up from his stool to fight, then the ref stop both fighters from going at it by telling the corners to clean off the mat. When you have time check it again.

That is how NY does things post Mago tragedy, the doctors for sure give time for the guy to recover but that is the rules they operate under have for a bunch of fights now.
