I mean, most people had Ortiz winning the first 4 rounds. Wilder just pawed at him initially.
Wilder maintained a watchful distance (/ran) for the first four rounds. It was smart strategy, really, as it tired Ortiz a little and stopped the Cuban landing anything meaningful. Boring as hell to watch, though, and he was clearly 4-zip down.
Can’t fault Wilder’s heart, strength and powers of recovery, but watching that fight has only made me more convinced that Joshua is going to eat him alive.
I now have respect for Wilder. Not only did he show a lot of heart in the ring by surviving that 7th and coming back strong but he also had class and dignity post-fight and didn’t make an a$$ out of himself.
Agreed on that. I don't dislike Wilder, but I absolutely hate how sloppy and undisciplined he is.
ya hes still a better boxer then given credit tho its just when he gets his opponent hurt he just opens up and goes for the kill. you would think someone like joshua could make him pay but who knows honestly. wilder an enigma everytime u think you got him figured out and hes done he just lands a crazy shot. weird too cause wilder so much smaller then the other heavyweights.
Im not saying you hate Wilder but a lot of people do and for whatever reason they dont want to admit it
There is still plenty of time for Ortiz to fail another drug test after this fight. Lets give it a few weeks before we say he fought clean. Still Ortiz fought a great fight he has nothing to be ashamed of. He would have beaten almost any other heavy weight tonight except Deontay.
I thought he was actually on his way to winning the fight until the knock out. He was very cApable or beating wilder. Ortiz was the better boxer. Wilder was the stronger more athletic one. The best man won’t yesterday in the most incredible heavyweight fight I’ve seen this millennium.
