He's always fought the way he fought Joshua. And Joshua trained for an entirely different style, whether your DA will admit it or not. He did NOT do SOME training for Takam along with the training he was doing for the other guy. GTFOH loser bwaaaaay. Joshua/Wilder IS a 50/50 fight. End of story.

I had D.Wilder winning the first half of the fight & Ortiz winning the second half then D.Wilder came back to lead by a round before the stoppage.

Yeah right! Excuses, excuses, excuses! Just admit and give the man his just due. He can punch has a ton of balls to go along with it also. Ortiz should have won that fight but Wilder refused to quit!

That's exactly how I saw it to man. Right on point. Last night showed that once you have an opponent hurt you have to finish the job. Ortiz put up an awesome fight nothing to be ashamed of what so ever. It was just a case of Wilder not quitting and showing the will to win and finding a way to win.

go for the kill, at one point you have to do or die, and wilder look like shit in that round after all that punishment. he got KO'd regardless so might as well go guns blazing and die with your boots on

I'll give Wilder credit in that he is a fighter at heart. Can't take that away from him, he does have devastating power but he still can't box worth a lick. You can make the argument that he is the least skilled champ in boxing today.

Ortiz, without his juice looked terrible. He was slow and plodding, his footwork looked ****, his punches were slow and he still landed, but he had no good pop because he was just so slow. Ortiz's jab was not sharp, had a hooking action and was just short.

Ortiz just didn't have the speed to get to him. Which speaks more of Ortiz than Wilder...Wilder's defense is just poor.

Wilder vs. AJ is a good fight, and if Wilder lands I'm pretty sure AJ is done and vice versa, but AJ will have an easier time getting to Wilder.

He wasn't even able to keep Ortiz at bay with his jab either, as a matter of fact the first punch that hurt Wilder in the 7th was a right hook over that pawing jab, Ortiz was even throwing his jab over Wilder's and catching him with it. He should of snapped the jab but for some odd reason chose to arm punch and paw with it even though it wasn't effective. Heck he doesn't even know how to keep distance with it, it's sad. I really wish he'd work on these things but like the majority of power punchers he's fallen in love with his power and although it's bailed him out thus far it's not going to always work out for him that way. I wish Emmanuel Steward was alive to teach this dude how to fight

Exactly this, those were my thoughts as well.

Besides his right hand, the guy has no other weapons. With such a long reach and height advtange and all those rounds he sparred with Wladimir Klitschko you'd think he learn to snap that jab and throw a proper left hook. Instead he uses the jab as a measuring stick for that right hand, and the left hook is nonexistent.

And worst of all he is getting really ****y. I give him credit for his heart and grit to be able to pull off victory in a fight that he was on the brink of being knocked out, but other than that I do not think this was a good performance by Wilder.

His power will undoubtedly fail him at some point and then what will he have to fall back on?

Agreed on that. I don't dislike Wilder, but I absolutely hate how sloppy and undisciplined he is.
