I wasn't even talking about whether Jacobs was still with Haymon there.
I agreed with him that some people are very sensitive about Haymon .. and you just proved that's true!Comment

He flat out stated that Jacobs was no longer with Haymon. Which you part you agreed with was ambiguous enough to warrant a response. And either way, his statement warranted one. Whether that makes me sensitive or not is an opinion. Jacobs being advised by Haymon is not.Comment

LOL yea what Kafkod said. This Haymon stuff turned into serious f#cking business since PBC came to be & he signed all those 200 or w/e cats.
As a PBC dork early on I had a goddamn spreadsheet of Haymon guys cuz there'd be so many dumb arguments over Haymon sh^t + I was jerking off to all the fights that could've been easily made lmfao. But now f#ck Haymon, respectfully, for not taking what he coulda done seriously.
If he'd matched the best guys on his books with each other right from the off he could have made PBC into what a lot people here were dreaming it was going to be. But 3 years later and still nothing has really happened - except that Eddie Hearn has now got himself involved.
The way I see it, if Haymon was doing his job properly there wouldn't be room for a guy like Hearn to waltz in and stick his feet under the table like that. Fast Eddie saw an opening that shouldn't really have been there and he's taking full advantage of it.Comment

I honestly think Haymon DID do his job properly cuz of the lines he had to stay within. It woulda been better for fans IF he was some Don King 2.0 sh^t & coulda just made all the fights. But from the sounds of every guy he managed that I heard speak about their meetings with Haymon it went like this: Haymon asks you or your trainer/manager 3 guys you wanna fight + 3 guys you think you can beat & from there fights get decided. If he'd matched the best guys on his books with each other right from the off he could have made PBC into what a lot people here were dreaming it was going to be. My assumption is if fighter A says he wants to fight fighter B & fighter B doesn't mention fighter A as a guy he wants to fight when he was asked then the fight isn't happening. And Haymon as a manager isn't in a position to force guys to take fights. If he was legit a promoter he'd have more leeway to offer nicer money or lesser money for fights he wanted to make vs fights he didn't wanna make like promoters do. So looking back on it now I think he needed to give more power to promoters then he did to make the big fights vs give the power to the fighters.
Or thats my take on why PBC never got to where it could've gotten.Comment

OK, so this wouldn't be an American signing obviously, but Hearn has said that he has a lot of stuff in the works in recent interviews. BJS has one more fight with Warren and then is a FA and he was in Brook's corner at the fight the other day. Fury also just said something (again) about big news coming soon. Is there a possibility that Matchroom sweeps up both the gypsies and signs Saunders and Fury?? And could you imagine how Fish Eyes would react?

The way Haymon uses de facto promoters like Di Bella, who don't have any vested interest in building a fighter, as a long term investment project, the way Hearn does, is what I'm talking about. Hearn came and said that the reason Wilder is still fighting for comparitive peanuts is that he has no promoter.I honestly think Haymon DID do his job properly cuz of the lines he had to stay within. Haymon can't act as a promoter because of the Ali act, and tbh, he probably doesn't have the ability to promote fighters properly either. The first thing he should have done is was make sure that the promotional side of PBC was going to be taken care of. Somebody like a Don King, Dana White, or Eddie Hearn, was what PBC was crying out for. But Haymon seemed totally blind to that.Last edited by kafkod; 03-05-2018, 03:53 PM.Comment

I could see that happen it was weird seeing Saunders wearing a suit the other day he's normally a scruffy kuntOK, so this wouldn't be an American signing obviously, but Hearn has said that he has a lot of stuff in the works in recent interviews. This convo between Hearn and BJS is interesting. BJS asks Hearn about making a fight between him and Danny Jacobs. Hearn replies that it would be difficult because, "Danny earns more money than you, and you wouldn't take a pay cut."
He then throws in a clear jab at Frank Warren "He - that's Jacobs - has a good promoter." Lol.
