By the way arum and the rest of the world knows HBO is replaying the biggest ppv of the year on this date. So why he offered a fight when he knew hbo and golden boy would be competing against themselve? Ask yourself if the shoe was on the other foot when Manny was still a huge ppv star would he ever let one of his best fighters fight on another network on the same day HBO was replaying a Pacquiao fight? Hell no he wouldnt. That would be a non starter and arum would scream the other promoter clearly doesn't want to make the fight by offering only that date.Last edited by bigdunny1; 02-27-2018, 12:53 AM.

LMAO at Loma fans thinking fighters gonna fight him ONLY on ESPN AND for less $$$$ other networks will pay.
Its always been Beltron. He with Top Rank and he has their most bought belt.
Top Rank OWNS the WBO.

By the way canelo's 2 ppv replays last year (Chavez and GGG) drew more viewers then beltran on ESPN a week ago and loma vs Marriaga on ESPN last year. Easy to say it's just a replay but a lot of people watch it and they are airing live fights that night as well.

There are only four Saturdays in a month. HBO is only the third most important entity in US boxing. Why should HBO be able to demand three Saturdays in a row? Top Rank can't go May 19 because ESPN has the NBA playoffs that night, plus Showtime already has TWO major shows announced that night.
If not May 12, when? ESPN has big NBA games May 11, which they want to use to promote boxing on May 12. Top Rank has to go on the dates ESPN wants.

HBO may be willing to come up with more cash for Lomachenko/Linares, but HBO may not pay as much for Linares/ Player to be named later. That is kind of the unknown here. Lomachenko on ESPN gets hyped on Sportscenter, during B-Ball games on all the ESPN networks and ESPN radio. That is a lot of chances for eyeballs that have never seen Linares before. If HBO is not paying as much for Linares to fight whatever is next, Linares may be better off taking his shot at a P4P fighter for a tad less in front of more eyeballs.
If HBO is willing to pay the same to Linares regardless of who he fights, than I am with you. Loma and Beltran are on ESPN, Linares and someone with a pulse on HBO. Otherwise, Linares is really better off jumping on this chance for a prime time ESPN fight in my opinion.
