His manager, who is also Klitschko's manager, said Wilder would need a couple fights before being ready for Klitschko. So, he quickly scheduled a couple fights for Wilder. Not world beaters, but not bums either. After Wilder knocked out Duhaupas, he went on to knock out Helenius to become silver WBC heavyweight champion, and wound up spending the next six months in the TBRB top 10. So Duhaupas was clearly better than people gave him credit for.

When Wilder & Klitschko's manager said Wilder would need a couple fights, Klitschko already had a fight scheduled, so he wasn't available anyway. After Wilder's two quick fights, he went public that he was ready for Klitschko ASAP. Klitschko needed to make a mandatory defense against Fury, and Wilder said in a lengthy interview with Forbes that he'd fight Klitsckho in 2016.

As we all know, Fury pulled off the upset, ruining plans for Klitschko vs. Wilder. But that is not Wilder's fault. Just as it isn't Wilder's fault that Povetkin cheated or that King Kong cheated.

Now Wilder is giving King Kong a second chance. In a voluntary defense, Wilder is fighting the most avoided monster in the division. If you can't give him props for that, then you're never going to give him props for anything. You're just a hater, plain and simple.

Yep his fans will be brought down to earth too. It's the casual fans on here that don't realize what he's doing. They think because he's a champion that the guys he's fighting are real contenders. If they really followed boxing they would understand those are all unranked bums he's been beating. Anyone can look good against guys like that

It is interesting how Wilder was able to get the WBC belt in the first place...in 2013, he fought Matthew Greer, Audley Harrison, Siarhei Liakovich, and Nicolai Firtha. Then he faced Malik Scott (we know what happened there) and Jason Gavern (who was 25-16-4) before the WBC title fight. His opponent - Bermane Stiverne - was coming off fighting one time per year since 2012...a fight with Willie Herring in April of that year, then waiting nearly a year until his first fight with Arreola, and then almost 13 months until his next fight with Arreola for the vacant WBC title.

Stiverne had to wait another 8 months to defend that title, when the rules state that you have to defend the bet every 90 to 120 days. 8 months is much more than 120 days, so what happened there?

On top of that, Wilder didn't make his first defense of that title until five months after winning it. To further add su****ion, he was supposed to defend against the mandatory challenger one year after winning the title. He didn't.

Even on youtube Joshua ADMITS & credits Wilder for having GREAT experience by having had 39 fights and being better equipped to handle Ortiz.

It seems like guys on these sights who are likely over 200lbs believe they couldve done what Wilder has done (will do) and then some!! Getting "up" for 39 opponents, while consistently training for the 39 of em' seems to be nothing more than fighting them on PS4, then switching back to boxingscene to critisize - for these internet critic pros.

Now they know for sure the rough & tough Ortiz is really in his 50's and "now" they know for sure he's really not much of a threat. How do they know??! because they know.

Ortiz undoubtedly LOOKS & trains like KING KONG, even tried to DRUG his way to BEAST level......Wilder looks like he couldve subbed for Scottie Pippen, yet no props are given to the 220lb whip taking on the WELL ESTABLISHED GIANT with NO LOSSES! Joshua looks like all he has to do is put on his super hero outfit and keep smashing, while his opponents look/ed like civilians with the occasional pumped up "inactive," looking for some money & temp glory.....

King Wilder is calling EVERYBODY out. Lennox, & Wlad can jump back into the mix since they have sooo much to say, especially Wlad since all the Joshua fanatics STILL deem him a credible threat & Joshuas BEST opponent at 41 coming off that EMBARRASSING gun shy WACK loss!! If Wlad gets giddy and decides he wants Wilder now, he'll now really be in his 60's.....

I think most people will take Wilder, as I think I will. But Ortiz looks good from what I have seen of him training. He is a serious boxer. I just think Wilder respects him and his power and will not fight ******. He is the faster athlete and wants this fight bad. He is a love/hate type personality which he eats up. He does need to prove he can actually box a game plan to beat an opponent and that he can adjust in the ring if things are not going well. Wilder has let himself get hit in recent matches and Ortiz will make him pay dearly if he allows it again trying to make something spectacular happen if it is not there.

Still leaning Wilder, and I actually think it goes 12 rounds.

That's how you promote a fight. None of this millennial "best man wins" nonsense.

I would love to see Wilder hurt Ortiz, just for him to bring out that infamous "Windmill".
