Hopkins, Jones & Toney: Let's Rank 'Em Again!

It's like this - Roy Jones in his prime was probably the best fighter I've ever seen. No one could touch him.

But this thread isn't about who's the greatest fighter you've ever seen. It's about careers, accomplishments, legacy, etc. (At least that's what I think it's about). That's where Roy falls down (literally), because he's lost his last 3 and looked very bad doing it. Whereas Hopkins is ending his career on a high at a ripe old age of 41.

I have no doubt that a prime Roy beats a prime Hopkins 10 out of 10 times. But the latter part of his career has been a disaster, and that, combined with his reputation as being a ducker/protected HBO creation, hurts his legacy. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.

Problem is, Roy's resume is better then both Hopkins and Toney's.
Two losses to taylor?
His biggest wins were good wins, even though they were over smaller fighters. He stopped Glen Johnson on cuts. He came up and beat antionio tarver in a great preformance.
But other than that, his resume sucks.
Robert Allen 3 times??

When you look at Roys resume, you see some of the top light heavys and supermiddle's of all time.
No to mention he won a HEAVYWEIGHT title.
Hopkins stayed content fighting B level fighters in the same weight class for most of his career.
Not nearly as impressive as moving up and weight and still dominating naturally bigger men.

Jones faced 17 current or former champions. The only other fighters who come close to that mark in this generation are Holyfield and Oscar.

Roy won titles at 160 168 175 and Heavyweight.

He was also pound for pound best in the sport for about 7 or 8 straight years, and didn't lose more than a handfull of rounds in an entire decade.

After moving up to Heavyweight from Lt Heavy, he went back down and won the Lt Heavyweight title.

The only ones discrediting his legacy are proven and laughable Roy haters.

His legacy is unparalelled, and he makes a very strong case for the fighter of his generation.

Anyone who disagress is doing so out of spite or bias.
