I have no opinion on who will win, but GGG is the betting favorite, so I'm not sure I see the logic in saying he'll likely lose. If that's your personal hunch, that's fine. I don't like to argue opinions. I respect your prediction.




The point is that Charlo is sitting in one of the best spots in the division. He gets an easy win for the interim title and then gets a big dollar showdown with GGG with a nice slice of the pie. Or, if Canelo upsets GGG, Canelo likely refuses the WBC title and Charlo becomes the champion.

There's no way in hell Canelo would want to put up with IBF mandatories, so Haymon likely sends the other Charlo after that belt in the next year or so. Haymon is constantly grooming replacements for the belts so his guys can move up and capture more belts. It's like a virus. That's why he's constantly holding eliminators to create a backlog so other mandatories can't break through.

Mikey has used Linares cotto Loma Crawford and now Spence name. He knows he needs to give options to get big fights.

If he didn’t sign with Haymon he wouldn’t be getting Lipinets right now.

Mikey has been with Haymon- who is an advisor not a promoter, who also lets his fighters fight on different networks since his layoff post-Top Rank. Cotto-Garcia is much bigger than Cotto-Sadam Ali and signing with a promoter Golden Boy is not a cost worth incurring for that fight or else look at the issues Mikey would have had (same problem Linares is having trying to get Loma- Golden Boy)

wrong again. Haymon let’s his c level fighters like Dominic wade and John Molina and feliz diaz fight on hbo. He only let Chavez nd Jacobs go because it was a huge PPV fight. U haven’t seen an A level pbc fighter on regular hbo. Mikey could have signed the Three fight deal and beat Cotto. Cotto with the torn biceps doesn’t beat Mikey and then fought Linares and finished the deal with Matthysse. All good high level fights and Mikey would have been favored over linares and matthysse. He could have taken out golden boys heavy hitters besides Canelo and been gone back to pbc end of 2018. Instead he’s fighting. Sergey Lipinets smh. Haymon doesn’t have big names at 35 or 40.

Light heavyweight has never been a weight class Haymon controls. It's been an HBO weight class for a long time. SHO tried to steal the division by signing Adonis, but then HBO got Hopkins to jump to maintain their control.

Even though Haymon doesn't have enough talent to control the division, I think he has enough to control that one title and even if Arum secures it, I have a hard time believing he can keep it long as every mandatory for the next several years will be Haymon fighters.

So now you're moving the goal posts because you can't name a single guy that had a belt and then chose to leave Haymon. We don't even know if Beterbiev left or not. If he did, it was wise to do so before fighting for the title because a long term extension kicks in on your Haymon contract when you fight for the title.
