Cotto with the torn biceps doesn’t beat Mikey and then fought Linares and finished the deal with Matthysse. All good high level fights and Mikey would have been favored over linares and matthysse. He could have taken out golden boys heavy hitters besides Canelo and been gone back to pbc end of 2018. Instead he’s fighting. Sergey Lipinets smh. Haymon doesn’t have big names at 35 or 40.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. Haymon will let his top fighters take the best fights and best paydays. Remember Khan vs Canelo, Wilder vs Povetkin (although PEDs messed it up). I think Mikey is serious when he calls these names out. I personally think it’s a mistake to try to get a fight with Spence right now but I would watch that fight!

If there's no AJ vs. Wilder fight, the US public's interest in the weight class will be seriously hurt. HBO can try to prop up a British hero vs. random guys, but if he refuses to fight Wilder and Wilder keeps winning, there is a ceiling on AJ for sure.

But make no mistake, SHO would spend pretty much any amount to lock up AJ. So what we're really talking here is whether Matchroom is going to take over a majority of HBO's dates. That is something SHO can't match. And if that's the case, we'll have to see if a British promoter can turn things around on HBO. I tend to think it'll be a band aid that slows the death, but doesn't prevent it.

Even if it doesn't work, it could save Nelson's job for a couple more years and if that's the case, that's all that really matters.
PBC is invested in heavyweight. After Ortiz they don't have a lot to offer Wilder. Maybe Wilder will also go over to HBO a la Jacobs to get at Joshua, Fury, Whyte, etc.

You are exaggerating when you say Wilder is a lot more popular than Joshua in the US. Neither is popular. Wilder only sells well at home and no I am not counting the PBC ticket giveaways at PBC thanks to Fill A Seat and other programs they utilize to even get the place half full.

Wilder is more popular but not real popular compared to Joshua but if Joshua beats Parker and then Miller on US soil then the gap will have been closed. If Wilder keeps ducking Joshua by demanding 50-50 then the US public will turn on Wilder and not Joshua.

See, this is how you work. You're caught in the following blatant lie:

"u also failed to address the talent leaving the pbc and some are taking belts with them."

Turns out nobody took belts with them, so you just keep changing the subject to complete nonsense.
Wrong again. You said "That this was my thread starter" which I said was a lie. I started this entire thread by saying it is weak ratings which isn't debatable. It is is weak. It is lower than Spence's weak ratings and way lower than Wilder's so so ratings. If you are going to call Wilder's ratings "good" you would have to call Garcia's "weak" just by comparing the two

So when will Haymon let Spence, Garcia, Porter, Thurman fight Crawford on ESPN. Or Garcia fight Linares on HBO? Or Leo Santa Cruz and/or Mares fight Valdez on ESPN? The answer is never. Just as it always has been. He only lets his A list fighters fight PPV fights if the money is huge.

Your Povetkin example is terrible. That was a purse bid that Haymon lost. He had to go to Russia or give up his belt and then Wilder would lose most of his earning power. Without a belt there is no reason for anyone to fight Wilder.

I'll never understand what you get out of just blatantly lying like this all the time.

We can look at the ratings for their fights and clearly see who the public is more interested in.

You'll say, "it's not fair, AJ fights in the afternoon!" But that doesn't change who is more popular. It just explains one of the reasons.

Cotto vs Mikey Garcia would have been a big fight with real $ involved. Don’t kid yourself. No comment on Canelo-Khan?
