That is the date ESPN wants a big fight. There are only four Saturdays in a month. SHO, ESPN & HBO (in that order) are the major fight providers in the US. Boxing isn't ESPN's #1 priority (or even in their top 5), so there are limited dates that work well for ESPN that don't conflict with other major fights. If you change the date to 5/5, you go against Canelo-GGG. If you change the date to 5/19, you go against the Keith Thurman/Adonis Stevenson double header.
