Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Lomachenko, has been trying to get the deal done with Golden Boy Promotions, who handle Linares.

I wish Peter Nelson had cared this much about the actual sport of boxing to pressure Golden Boy to make GGG-Canelo before GGG got old. He didn't seem in any hurry to do that, but suddenly he cares so much about Jorge Linares LOL. I used to defend Peter Nelson because at least he was demanding promoters make good fights if he was going to spend HBO's limited budget on them, but the last 9 months he hasn't even been doing that, so it's getting harder to defend him by the day.

Anyway, what needs to happen is for Arum, Gomez, and Nelson to all get on a three way phone call and work this out like adults. It's on them to get the fight made for April or May, otherwise they all share the blame.

That's what hbo is blocking. They don't want Loma vs linares on ESPN to go up against their replay of Canelo vs ggg. It's not enough that they'll all make millions off the ppv and live gate. They have to c*ck block a fight the week after so they can generate ratings for the replay and likely some b-c level live fight. Boxing fans get screwed to accommodate their greed.
