Dunn, you gotta throw Thurman a bone. If he is healthy when he gets back in May.... I think there is a good chance Spence might be earlier. Could be wrong... styles make fights, and I think Thurman has the style and movement to trouble Spence. Bud is a different animal though. If Spence were to walk thru Thurman, then the super fight shall be made. Spence vs Crawford.... for all the marbles
Crawford and Spence should NOT fight

Thurman has repeatedly said he wants 2 tune ups. That means he the unification with Spence is 2019. Ugggh.Dunn, you gotta throw Thurman a bone. If he is healthy when he gets back in May.... The problem with this is the countless big fights that never got made because a fighter fights a guy who is supposed to be a tuneup or a lower level fighter and they lose, thus destroying their chance at a big payday. Great matchups should be the case where they strike while the iron is hot. Otherwise, both lose a big payday by someone losing while trying to build the big fight up. Unbeaten Gamboa vs unbeaten JuanMa is one of the many big fights that was not made because of this scenario. On top of that, you are assuming they could beat Canelo which is not a given, especially since he is a full-fledged middleweight. And you are assuming that Lom would go up to 147 which will not happen. The only chance that Lom would have fought was if Crawford stayed at 140 and Lom jumped divisions but that ship sailed for good. And fighting Thurman is not a low risk. Bottom line, Crawford, Thurman, and Spence need to fight before mid 2019 and unify and have one champion.Crawford and Spence are the best two fighters at welterweight and super lightweight, we all know that. Both are great for the sport. If one of them loses, it will hurt one's marketing ability and thus hurt the sport. They should beat guys like Thurman, Lomachenko, Canelo, etc., clean up around them before they fight.Comment

I know I know. It’s very disheartening, to say the least. Dude did have a major surgery though. If it was me, I wouldn’t say ish until I fought first. One of three things happens in his return;
1. He is healthy and feels normal
2. He doesn’t have full range. That could be a permanent problem.
3. He gets in the tune up and further injures himself.
Anyway you look at it, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for the tune up. If he’s ok, then time to step up the game Keef!Comment

I have no issue with the tune up coming off a long layoff. Do that and then what-Porter rematch? Broner? Garcia rematch? If you are going to do that you might as well fight Spence.I know I know. Spence looks to outgrowing 147 very soon. It would be ideal fr him to fight Thurman and Crawford before he does.
We all want the Crawford/Spence fight this year.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 02-12-2018, 11:42 AM.Comment
