Comments Thread For: Wilder: Joshua Must Take Same Rematch Deal I Take for 1st Fight

This isn’t his way of negotiating it is his way of letting all the haters know whatever deal he accepts Joshua must accept the same for the rematch. He is basically saying 50-50 is out the window so now all the haters who think Wilder is ducking really have no reason to believe that anymore.Comment

Don't compare a soccer stadium seat that cost $50 to a seat at an arena in Vegas, that's just dumb. The ticket prices for AJ vs Wlad at Wembley ranged from £40 ($55) for the nose-bleeds to £2000 ($2766) ringside.
The total gate money was £8million, that's more than $11million
The fight sold 1.5million Sky PPVs at £19.95.
So the UK PPV income would have been around £30million, that's just under $41.5million.
I think AJ vs Wilder, for all 4 HW belts, would do at least as well as AJ vs Klitschko in the UK, and very likely even better.
But would it make more than $11million at the gate and more than $41.5million in PPVs if it happened in the States?
Personally, I don't think it would do anything near those numbers.Comment

ITs in both parties interest to have a rematch clause whichever way the fight goes. So basically wilder is still asking for the same 50/50 split he was asking for before? Except we are in the middle of other fights and he is all talk and no action. Let’s see whether he will actually commit to something sensible rather than just listen to his usual bsComment

If Parker wins, he gets 55% in the rematch. You don't think Wilder will be able to negotiate that if he wins, he gets 60% in the rematch?Comment

He could have been building his rep and fights since fight #20, he’s chosen to fight easy fights all the way though? Why would he change now?Comment

He's chosen? He chose for Povetkin to fail his drug test? He chose for King Kong to fail his drug test?
Do you realize how silly these complaints seem when Wilder is making a voluntary defense against the most avoided heavyweight on the planet? Why would he change now?Comment
