I honestly don’t understand that logic. The exact same could be used against Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep etc. Losing past your prime does not negate what you achieved during your prime.

PED usage, not fighting the best of his era, then losing to Tarver and JOhnson (I don't look too badly on the losses that came after as he was shot). This is balanced out by a heavyweight title (nowhere close to the actual heavyweight belt) and exceptional natural ability and a certain level of skill, + wins over Toney and...erm...Hopkins.

So he is like probably 47ish if someone was to do a top 50. I think I had him around there.

I dont really have an ATG list because its just too hard but, roy jones would be near the top if i did. He's treated the last 10-12 years like a hobby and he's earned the right to do that. The Roy Jones of the 90s was exceptional and that's the way I will remember him.

I like top 25 for him, maybe top 20. I have only gotten hugely excited and endeared to certain fighters and he, Leonard, Arguello, Sanchez, Benitez, are my 5 favorites of all time as seen in my avatar.

I rate Jones as a top twenty- five light heavy. Probably between 12 and 16. but no where near the top of the ATG list. I really don't rate him as an ATG, an all time "top tier" fighter.
