Is there anything wrong with letting a fight marinate?

Manny/Floyd is the worst example to use btw...fight happened after Manny got knocked the **** out!!!!! Then became more of a boxer. Which took away from the mystique of the fight.

marinating and waiting for a guy to get old are two vastly different things. they should fight first time without making it stew for 5 years cause whoever wins there will be a giant interest in one or 2 more fights. there is where the money is

Marinate in some cases is waiting for the opponent to get old or retire out of frustration.

I dont think that marination makes more money for the fighters btw. More money 'per fight' between them maybe. But why not fight a few times?

Floyd and Manny could have had a trilogy and earned stratospheric amounts of money. Both were plenty good enough to come back from a loss and build the fight again.

Basically its about avoiding risk and making good money rather than taking risks and making insane money.

It would be good to see fighters fight at different stages of their career. Lets see a younger Canelo fight prime GGG, then a bigger stronger Canelo fight him again when GG;s a bit older, then again.

Why not? I want to see how these guys adapt and change tactics across fights

They aren't even at the point of letting it marinate yet. Thurman is injured and will take at least one comeback fight, maybe even 2. Then the marination begins. Spence can talk all he wants but he's still only beaten one guy in brook at ww. Go fight Garcia or Porter before Thurman and get some quality wins under your belt before the fight.
