Al doesn't speak publicly, so the articles about PBC belts were just clickbait rumors. Al keeps everything on a need to know basis. When PBC started, he banned the belts from being shown on camera. It caused the WBC, WBA and IBF to freak out (Al typically doesn't work with the WBO, the WBO is controlled primarily by Arum and Warren).
Al never said he was getting rid of the belts, but he very quickly showed how easy it would be.
The WBC, WBA and IBF, during their freak out, asked Al to sit down with them. A meeting was held with Al, Moro, Mendoza and Peoples. The three presidents plead their case for why Al should keep working with them. Having spoken to one of the four in the meeting (feel free to guess, not Haymon), they claimed Al never revealed what his plan actually was. That is how he operates. But he had them scared ****less and essentially begging him to not ditch them.
Ever since, all three organizations have been VERY accommodating towards Al. Not since the days of Don King has one man had so much stroke with all three of the original sanctioning bodies.
