I just watched the full interview with Thurman. Even worse than I thought. He starts it talking about his fight with Danny Garcia and he’s full of gusto, swagger while he curses, jokes and laughs. Thenwhen Spence gets brought up his tone completely changes, he studders a bit and looks uncomfortable. Thurman does not want the fight to happen in 2019 or ever.

You're approaching the end of the year then, so 2 fights and Spence in 2019 seems to be the plan.

Where exactly in that article and interview did he say he would not fight Spence?

Right now Porter is ranked #1 by the WBC. He's not ranked by the IBF which is the title Spence holds. I'm guessing Porter just has more leverage to make a fight with Thurman than he does Spence. Even though they are all under the PBC umbrella. Lets see what happens in the second half of the year when Spence and Porter are looking for dance partners. The fight could very well happen.
