I got your back on this one...you are absolutely right. I watched Tyson last night against Ferguson...it reminded me why Tyson was so great...he was tenacious and one of the most furocious punchers ever....but what it also reminded me was that Tyson was one demensional...you never had to look for Tyson...he was right there...as he got a little older...he started to slow down on the head movement..see...when you are a fighter that walks straight in like Tyson, he had better have some head movement or a jab, Tyson rarely used a jab and only had head movement in his earlier fights,(after he went to jail, the head movement was gone) but as soon as and I mean that, as soon as his head slowed down any "boxer"/"puncher" would have their way with him...especially if they were good on defense...so all around skills for the longest most consistent times was Holmes...was Holmes the Greatest...no...was he top 5 heavy's ever...you bet.Originally posted by K-DOGGLet me get this straight. You're basing this synopsis on the fact that Mike kayoed a 38 year old Larry Holmes who was coming off a two year layoff?
Have you ever seen the Snipes or Weaver fights? How about Shavers II?
A prime Larry Holmes would've taken Mike Tyson to school and quite possibly stopped him in the second half of the fight. If Buster Douglas could knock Tyson out.....well.Comment
