I don't know how you can say any fight that don't go past 4 rounds isn't exciting, so you have it, 31 fightsComment

Showtime numbers have Ben down across the board for over three years. This didn’t just start. Jacobs vs Quillin and DeGale Bute were supposed to be big fights but were ratings disasters.Wilder fought an opponent NOBODY wanted to see him against and it was still the second highest rated Showtime fight of the year. How is that not strong?
The fight peaked at 900,000 viewers according to Nielsen, but that doesn't tell the whole story.
Unlike HBO, Showtime allows their fights to be watched live on their app, even though it will harm the publicly announced Nielsen number. Unlike HBO, Showtime allows a late night replay, even though it will harm the publicly announced Nielsen number. Unlike HBO, Showtime quickly makes the fights available on demand, even though it will harm the publicly announced Nielsen number. Unlike HBO, Showtime makes the entire event available on demand, even though it will harm the publicly announced Nielsen number.
People wonder why Showtime boxing ratings are down across the board and they don't realize it's because Showtime has embraced new technology and makes it as convenient as possible for their viewers to watch in a variety of ways, even though it will harm the publicly announced Nielsen number. HBO does everything possible to preserve that number, to the detriment of their subscribers.
I noticed your screen name has WBA WBC and IBF but u forgot WBO. There’s 4 legit beltsComment

Correct. They've been down ever since the Showtime app added live streaming as people watching through the app are not counted by Nielsen. This is why HBO refuses to allow live streaming of their fights even though Showtime has allowed it for years.
The Showtime numbers falling perfectly correlate with several steps Showtime took to make their fights as accessible as possible. Which is why the Nielsen numbers are so misleading. Think about it logically. Showtime is more committed to boxing than ever before and spending more money on boxing than ever before. Despite "falling ratings." Why do you think that is? Clearly they know something you don't. Which is the true numbers. They know exactly how many people are watching live on the app, watching VOD, etc. So they're basing their decisions on the real numbers, not the Nielsen numbers.
HBO is much more concerned with optics, which is why they're so obsessed with the Nielsen number, even if it makes things much worse for fans that HBO fights can't be streamed live and you have to wait several days for the fights to be added to HBO GO, and even then, they don't add the whole broadcast.Comment

They weren't exciting to you. Why would I want to try to convince you they were exciting? It's an opinion. I personally have found all of Wilder's fights to be exciting because you know a knockout is likely, you just don't know when. I find that drama exciting. You don't. No problem. I loved the Stiverne fight, the Washington fight, the Malik Scott fight. You didn't. No problem. Maybe you like onions and I don't. We can still be friends.Comment

the majority of people dont post on message boards. wilder has 600,000 instagram followers. how many of them post here? a handful maybe?
wilder is consistently one of the biggest draws showtime has. clearly he excites people. just because you dont like him doesnt change the fact that hes one of the biggest homegrown attractions in american boxing.Comment
